Sparky-(Admin) 21,300 #1 Posted September 22, 2018 Having a few people over for a bonfire...figured I’d put the 656/Honda to work. Hauled out a few chairs that needed scrubbing and a couple loads of wood. Have some nice dry pallets close by as well . Wife wanted me to toss out a wicker laundry basket today (but I saved it for tonight! Wicker burns great!!) 9

Thank you for taking care of it. You're right... It should actually be closer to the wall but still on the ground. It's a stepping stone. My honey is in process of weeding.

WVHillbilly520H 10,373 #18 Posted September 23, 2018 Dry time lasted long enough for my time at the car show (about half way between mine and @Machineguy Bob's homes), got back hoping to finish my mowing only to get rained out once again, between chasing kids and taking care of elderly parents ain't much time for the fire pit this year. 1

squonk 41,020 #22 Posted September 23, 2018 Years ago I bought my wife a fire pit thingy. We live in the village so I'm not as fortunate as some of you. I have one of the biggest lots in town but am still surrounded by houses. A neighbor 2 houses away owns a convenience store and I bought some firewood from there for the first night. I get the fire going in the backyard. We have our living room window open and have a police scanner on in there. We hear it go off about a complaint of a nuisance smoke smell in the area. Sure enough, the guy I bought the wood from called the cops! 1
AMC RULES 37,127 #23 Posted September 23, 2018 So, what's your town code say Mike... is it illegal to buy it?

That or they’re just control freaks or worse, both! Edited September 23, 2018 by Machineguy

Sure enough, the guy I bought the wood from called the cops! We have a loop hole for that problem in our village. Cooking fires are legal at any time sooo... all I do is keep a package of hot dogs & a stick out by my fire. I'm no master at lighting fires so some times it can take 3 or 4 hrs & quite a few beverages to get just the right temp for cooking hot dogs.
