Daron1965 644 #1 Posted September 8, 2018 My driveway is very old concrete that has numerous uneven cracks. Has anyone used skids or wheels on their plow blade to help the blade slide over the uneven cracks? I open to any and all suggestions. I'm planning on replacing the driveway in a few years. I hope. pfrederi 17,741 #2 Posted September 8, 2018 For something like $85 Toro will sell you some nice skids for your plow..but you have to have a newer blade with keyhole slots on the back to use them. I have made up skids using iron pipe caps and carriage bolts. They only last 2 or three seasons but they are cheap to make

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,317 #5 Posted September 8, 2018 I bought a pair of @WVHillbilly520H skids from him and they are very nice. Just have to find the time to install. 1

Sarge 3,463 #7 Posted September 9, 2018 Carbide scribe, square, drill bit & a good die grinder can take care of "no key holes" , lol. Sarge 2
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,046 #8 Posted September 9, 2018 I drilled through the blade and C-channel on the back and squared the holes in the blade to take 3/8" carriage bolts. Left enough room above the cutting edge so the carriage bolt heads won't interfere with a new reversible cutting edge. Garry 3
Sarge 3,463 #9 Posted September 9, 2018 You could add a piece of channel iron to the back of the blade on each side, thought about doing that with a couple of my older units here. Sarge
cleat 6,042 #10 Posted September 9, 2018 My blade has skids for a full size truck plow installed. It came that way, I just cleaned and painted it. You just install pin at whatever height you want it. Skids slip into a piece of pipe that has been welded to blade. One side has been cut off some for clearance. Cleat 1
cleat 6,042 #11 Posted September 10, 2018 Here is a closeup of the skids themselves. Cleat
