What Height of lift stands for tractors

Recommended Posts

bo dawg

I am going to build a wooden lift stands and ramps to drive tractor up on and get off the floor. My question is what is a good avg height that most prefer to have it at? 18” up off the floor or higher?

I had a wooden worktable for a while. I built it at 24" tall on casters. I thought it was a nice height for me at 6'tall. Tall enough I could reach around most things standing but also could sit on one of my adjustable stools too.

What dimensions are you planning to build the deck area? I was looking at my left over wood yesterday and thinking one would be nice to have.

Here is mine, ignore the yellow thing on there! Its 18" to 24" I think, I can measure tonight. I highly suggest you either winch it on there or I put the tractors in low and idle them up without me on and kill the ignition at the top of the ramp.

I like the cut outs on the deck.  Another great idea I will use.

Thank you.

I'm thinking more like what you would find in a garage for vehicles, but smaller scale. Not a table top type. It would break down leaving 4 separate stands for each wheel once the tractor is up on it. Plus it would store easy as well.

I wondering if 18" would be about the right height to sit on a stool and work toward the bottom and sides, or stand for the top of the tractor like engine work. Plus I could lay under it to do some nice under body work. LOl!

Thank you.

The whole middle is open and I put boards underneath so you can use 2 by material and slide them front to back. So I can remove all or just put pieces under to use a jack.

My bench is about 24" high.  Don't mess with ramps just hoist her up or down
