formariz 11,987 #1 Posted March 11, 2009 One thing that I am never sure while adjusting a carburetor is which direction is 'lean" and "rich", regardless of how many times I do it. Today for the first time ever after rebuilding one and deciding to polish the adjusters head I see that they are marked with an arrow and the word lean on it. Sarge 3,463 #3 Posted March 11, 2009 Almost every carb, regardless of air/fuel mix vs. fuel bleed type mixture screws are the same - turn the screw in (clockwise) is the lean , out (counterclockwise) richens the circuit . Coadster32 793 #6 Posted March 13, 2009 If the screw your showing is on the bottom of the carb, then that is correct info. I'm used to the screws on the side that regulate the air mixture. Those are opposite of what you describe. I was adjusting my snowmobile two weeks ago, and thought this info looked wrong. Nevermind! :thumbs: Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
iicap 1 #7 Posted March 13, 2009 If your snowmobile is a 2 stroke and has a Mikuni or Keihen carb(s) , then all bets are of as far as the adjustment comments you are reading in this thread.
