gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #7 Posted August 17, 2018 When I first saw your model number 15-49SC01 I thought 48 and 49 easily misread so posted the 48" info. Then you describe it as a 42" deck so 15-42SC01 but 42 and 49 still easily misread if poorly stamped. In any case the 42 and 48 are the width of cut - not the width of the deck. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #9 Posted August 18, 2018 If it is an 8 you have a 48" deck. The height adjuster for the rear wheels is on the left of a 48" deck and the right on a 42" deck. The belt covers on a 42" deck are secured by bolts going down into the deck shell. The belt covers on a 48" deck are secured by horizontal bolts going into the side of a heavy reinforcement plate on top of the deck shell.
