FatJackDurham 318 #1 Posted August 17, 2018 Is there anyone in the forum that does seat covers or seat restoration? I was looking at my herd and I noticed that all 5 horses have completely different seats.... Not even close. What are my options for fixing a torn seat or replacing it? one of them, the 416, has what looks like a stretch rubber cover on it that actually doesn't look to bad. Thing is, the seat it's on is not the same size an any other, so I don't know if its even available for others. What do you guys do about torn seats? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I knew nothing about upholstery work but watched a few YouTube videos and decided to try it myself, materials and supplies are cheap, order up a few yards of marine vinyl, seat foam, hog pliers and staples, and a good staple gun, make patterns, over size them and start sewing. I have no clue how to sew so as grown adult I had my mom do that part! it's not that complicated you just have patience and to think a step ahead, and if you screw it up who cares start over. 1 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The only seats I'm making now is for the 1054/953 and the LAWN RANGER AND 655,606,656,855,856,875,1055,1075 ,1056 . I'm trying to get the C160/gt14 seat back and bottom started but I'm waiting on a die to reproduce the wheelhorse design. This will take some time for me to get the lines and emblem pressed into the vinyl. But I hope to get it close to original. I'll post it as soon as I start making them. Yes I saw seats in tractor supply but I wondered how you attach them to the wheel horse slides. The can’t have the same hole spacing. How do people fit them on? I'm glad I'm not the only one. He usually does leather dies, but I figure, with the right temperature, they'd work for vinyl. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
