Schrec050584 2 #27 Posted August 17, 2018 Hey kurt, when you hook up the snowblower do you have to use the big spring for lift assist even on a hydro tractor?
cleat 6,853 #28 Posted August 17, 2018 Assuming you mean the 2 stage then yes, you need the big spring that mounts on the right side just under the front edge of the hood. If not the blower will lift but it lifts crooked, also the spring helps the blower float over rough terrain and puts some down pressure on the front wheels for better steering. cleat 6,853 #37 Posted August 20, 2018 (edited) I guess that is up to personal preference but I use silver wheel paint. This is exactly what I use. My wife works at TSC so we get a discount. https://www.tscstores.com/STEEL-HIGH-PERFORMANCE-WHEEL-P18133.aspx This is what my tractors and decks get painted with https://www.tscstores.com/340G-EXCEL-AEROSOL-FARM--IMPLEMENT-HARVESTER-RED-PAINT-P6177.aspx https://www.tscstores.com/PAINT-IMP-INTL-HARV-RED-946ML-P16783.aspx Cleat Edited August 20, 2018 by cleat

Schrec050584 2 #40 Posted August 22, 2018 Engine oil for 12hp kohler is sae 30 right or can i run 10w 30 synthetic?
WHX?? 49,894 #41 Posted August 22, 2018 Correct ...strait 30 weight although 10w30 syn will not hurt it. 10w might be the better choice for cold weather starts & running.
Schrec050584 2 #42 Posted August 24, 2018 (edited) How do you drain the gear lube in the rear of a wheelhorse 312-8 Edited August 24, 2018 by Schrec050584
cleat 6,853 #43 Posted August 24, 2018 Little flush plug underneath that uses an allen key to remove. If, for some reason it is stripped I have drained it by loosening the big oil supply tube to the pump. This is below the pump / cooling fan on the right hand side bottom. The 520 uses an Eaton 1100 that uses the fluid in the rear end for it's oil so no separate oil drain is required for the hydro unit. Cleat
