USHorse 41 #1 Posted March 10, 2009 Laid up for a few days due to injury and this is eating at me and I can't go look. I took apart the fuel pump on my 416-8 / Kohler 341 engine to clean, etc. Reinstalled it and seemed all went well. I did not start the engine yet....but is it possible that I could have reinstalled it incorrectly...i.e. with the mechanical lever that drives the diaphram in the wrong position pointing up versus point down...hope this makes sense.... Thank you ahead of time as always.
ol550 830 #2 Posted March 11, 2009 It may be possible to install it upside down I've never tried it . Most if not all levers push up that is to pull the diaphram to compress the spring. Hopt this helps, Mike
USHorse 41 #3 Posted March 12, 2009 You should try it, together we can keep parts suppliers in buisness Now that I have rolled out of bed and off the pain meds, things (literally) seem more clearer now . The pump inlet nipple, which is labeled "in" is right next to the gas supply line where it should. No harm, no foul.
