We are headed to the North Maine Woods this weekend!

As if we don't live far enough out in the sticks already.

We're going to go a few hours North and hang around rough camping with the moose for a few days.

Can't even begin to tell you how much I'm looking forward to it!!

No phone and internet actually sounds like a little slice of heaven!

The internet is great but boy can I waste some time on it looking at nothing important

Agreed!

It's possible I may be guilty of that on occasion as well......

About 40 years ago my dad drove me up towards Moose Head lake in ME.He asked me to look out the window and see if anything was missing and I said mailboxes.Right! An hour later same question and the answer was power poles. He loved Maine and lived there for 25yrs  but I could never get used to the sun light at that latitude.Beautiful country though.

My Dad was from Madawaska. Can't get to much more "Up Nort" than that without a pass port. :)

We're going there. Then take a right and drive another 90 minutes into the woods.

Love it.

Wild Bill in VA

We left for Maine on the 20th of July and then to St John New Brunswick Canada, traffic in New York and Connecticut wasn't the best but the fun we had and things we saw made up for it.

Enjoyed Portland and Bangor, from there to Calais and across to St Andrews. The road from Bangor to Calais had more American flags then Washington D.C. !

I work in Portland and so does my honey. We're both there Monday through Friday every day.

Pretty little city with lots of really unique people and architecture and culture.

She and I are both country people through and through but I can definitely see the draw to why people would want to be there.

At a previous job I used to be in Bangor two or three times a week for several months in a row. Basically an oversized

Small town.

I would definitely move north if I was given the opportunity and use that as a work base.

I've only been through calais a couple times but it looked pretty good as well.

The road you're talking about is probably Route 9. Around here also known as the airline.

Not sure where it got that moniker but there's a tremendous amount of truck traffic on that road going to and from the Seacoast in that area.

Definitely a very beautiful state to live and work and play in. We're very lucky people here.

Thanks Mike. Raining off and on pretty hard here in Southwest Maine right now as well.

Supposed to clear off by 4 p.m. or so. Up North.

What a view... how long and high is the hike from your rig?

The base of the mountain is a couple miles from the campsite we used.

The hike itself is about 4 miles up and back with 1900 feet elevation gain.

VERY steep with a fair amount of hand over hand and bouldering.. which we all love.

I'll get more pics later today that show the steep face.

Great hike in a great area.

Mt Katahdin would look "right next door" except for the thunder storms rolling around that day.

I saw one moose. Our companion saw another. There's a resident bull in the lake we were on.

One of the nights we heard... We are quite sure... At least 2 to 3 different wolves howling. Very rare in New England but they do exist.

I've never heard a wolf in the wild so that was a bit disconcerting but also really awesome to hear.

Absolutely incredible trip.

Here's a pic from the shore of the lake near camp.

Turn your device 90 degree left...

Scored a 606 for free. Got it going tonight and there is no 3rd gear. If you force it and let off the clutch it just grinds. Any suggestions??

I just purchased 312-8 .. I believe it's a 1987 as engine serial is 1987. Seat switch ....two of three seat switch wires were disconnected and warning light panel is out. Test switch activation shows no change when activated . I would like to reattach seat switch wires with the hope the dash test lights deactivate? I have an orange , black and light green but not sure which bayonettes on the switch to reattach them to. The black wire was attached to switch but may be on wrong batonette?
bayonettes on switch are labeled com, no and nc. The black wire was attached to "no " position  when I pulled out switch. I was wondering if anybody knew which color wires go on these designated positions on the switch? Thanks

Just picked up a free Honda g300 to shoehorn into my 606!! The only problem is it can't keep spark! When you ground the plug on the block it'll spark beautifully then all of sudden nothing. Pull the recoil start a few more times and boom, back to a great spark. Spark plug is missing the little screw on cap on the top but fits tight in the boot. Tried a different with the little cap but it won't snap in?! Would this be the cause of my problem?
