42 in. mower deck - model / year unknown

42 in rear discharge deck came with my 1973 automatic tractor

Previous owner (metal fabricator ) copied deck and made a new one.  Mows fine / everything works - but.

Front wheels rubbed front of deck when making a complete turn. I lengthened leveler rod and bar drafts.  Problem solved.

I researched 42 inch rear discharge mower decks.  I find none that rate compatible with 1973 auto. tractor.  

Question 1: Is this why front wheels rubbed against deck?

Question 2:  What replacement blades should I purchase? There are two sets of blades: 13 3/4  & 14 1/4.  Both are 3/4 bolt holes.

The 42" rear discharge did not start until 1976. That is why you can't find one. This list is in the order they were produced

 

DNA

75-42MR01 replaces 65-42MR01 (Both use blades with 5/8" x 3/4" double-D center hole)

 

75-42MR01 replaced by 75-42MR02, 85-42MR01, 95-42MR01, 95-42MR02, 05-42MR01, 05-42MR02, 05-42MR03, 05-42MR04, 15-42RC01, 15-42RC02, 78350 (These use blades with 3/4" center hole except the 75-42MR01)

Do the belt covers give you any clue as to what model - year this mower deck originally was?

The deck housing shown above is home made with parts from the original deck. It's not curved on the front side to allow for tire clearance.
