Mower Deck Compatibility

Recommended Posts

S.J.

Hello! I have a 1975 C-100 lawn tractor, and it's in pretty decent shape. Only problem is the mower deck is shot. I've been browsing for used decks, but I'm not seeing any of the original part number, s-0622. So I'm wondering, what other decks would be compatible with this model?

Thanks!

The correct deck model # is 5-0622.  That translates to a 36" wide deck.  You can use most any deck that has the 'Tach-o-Matic' attachment feature...but the 10hp engine of the C-100 will limit you to a 36 or 42" width.  The Tach-o-Matic system started in 1973 and still in use to the last production year of the decks....2007 (?).

Although a 48" deck would mount, I doubt that the 10hp engine would serve it well. Anyway, here are a few pics of 42" decks that will work. One is side discharge and the 2nd is rear discharge.

ps... Where are you in PA.  I can give you a 36" deck shell if you want to come and get it.  It is rusted out some, but may suit for a couple years yet. I am 80m north of Pittsburgh.

I'm about 40 miles south. Sounds like a good road trip. What are you asking for it?

Looking to find a new home for my 84 (I think) C-145. It has a dump trailer with the enclosure for leaves, the PTO impeller to get the leafs into the trailer, the hoses for deck-to-impeller, impeller-to-trailer.

I haven’t run it in over a year.
The battery and the cable to the battery probably need to be replaced.
Comes with a new head gasket still in the bag.
Seat is cracked but still comfortable.

Happy to answer questions or take other pictures.

      Hello gents!
I find myself with a question for the forum before I go down the path of ripping my deck apart in the middle of the season.

I have a 42 inch rear discharge 78350 that seems to have developed a crack at the center spindle (photo attached). At first I thought I had unbalanced blade issue bc the deck will vibrate something fearce. Long story short took it off got everything sharp and freshly greased. Started it up and it had the vibration again that reverberates through the deck. Now it's not as as bad as before but at the wrong angle or first starting it just vibrates loudly. So looked around and found the crack at the center spindle.

Debating if a simple weld would be sufficient for this crack or it would need more extensive repair? I don't weld myself but before I bothered the guy that farms the property thought I would ask here for thoughts if someone has had this issue since I was not seeing something in the forum.

Appreciate your guys help and thoughts.

I’m looking for wheel horse tractors for sale or for parts in the Eastern Nebraska or western Iowa area. Preferably 8 speed manuals. Pm me or comment with what you have. The worst I could say is it’s out of my price or distance range. Edit: engine is not important, it’s going to get an engine swap.
      Thanks,
      John

Well it looks like I'm out of luck. I have been looking for blades for my Lawn Ranger and having zero luck. I have tried Wheel Horse part numbers 7908, 7909. Toro part numbers 8777, and 53322 and no one has anything like this. I was thinking about doing a cut down, but finding right hand and left hand blades seems to be the problem.
Anyone making blades, constructing blades, got a work around, etc? My blades are usable, but that is about it.
