rmaynard 15,730 #1 Posted July 16, 2018 If you have a 701 or 702, you know that the turning radius is very wide. Has anyone modified one of these to accommodate a 1963 or newer front axle to improve the steering?
Pullstart 63,201 #2 Posted July 16, 2018 I used a ‘64 chassis on my 502 refresh, but I’m sure the front plates holding the axle could have been grafted in if there was some attachment to the 701 or 702 frame. Otherwise, I cut the hood stand welds off the 64 chassis and all the other holes were the same. The steering gears from the ‘62 fit with the ‘64.
Pullstart 63,201 #3 Posted July 16, 2018 I think this should come through, but post #11 on my 502 refresh shows some detail.
