Pullstart 62,916 #101 Posted November 25, 2019 I think I’ll build a shop vac attachment for the table, there are so many wood shavings already!
Pullstart 62,916 #102 Posted November 25, 2019 Crude, but effective. I drilled a hole in the back for the vacuum but the router motor overpowered the suction even with the drawers closed. 1

Pullstart 62,916 #104 Posted November 26, 2019 I have 6 sets of 1x5 complete. I laid out my studs on the floor of the shop and pre-cut the ends to land on the studs. I’ve also upgraded my vacuum head so it won’t clog so easily... and remembered to add a bag in the canister! 3
PeacemakerJack 10,738 #105 Posted November 26, 2019 Looking great Kevin! Way to take an unwanted piece of furniture and turn it into a useful tool! I really like what you are doing with the bathroom shower. We absolutely love ours and have used it for 10 years and change now! We like it son much that we are planning something similar in our master suite this next year... keep us tuned in on the progress...

ohiofarmer 3,276 #109 Posted November 26, 2019 Just now, ohiofarmer said: On the vac filter thing. Sherwin Williams sells paint strainers in one and five gallon can sizes. You can place them over your shop vac filter without restricting the air flow. For more pre filter add some pantyhose 2
Pullstart 62,916 #110 Posted November 26, 2019 My millwork is 1/2 done! All the bathroom wood is shiplapped, planed, sanded and ready for white wash. I’ll set up a station in the basement to do just that... 1 1
Pullstart 62,916 #111 Posted November 28, 2019 Rylee was a trooper and helped to whitewash all the bathroom shiplap. It’s ready once I prep the wall! I hung more Sheetrock today and decided to raise the half wall into a most-wall. This required some extra lighting in the shower area and we found these little water resistant LED buggers. Now all the exposed studs will get cement board and redguard sealed. I need to start the shower floor slope before installing the rubber shower liner too. 1 1
rjg854 11,387 #112 Posted November 28, 2019 Keep plugging away Kevin, you'll get there
Pullstart 62,916 #113 Posted November 29, 2019 I have as many drywall joints taped as I can, stilts at the ready and all my mud tools ready, except apparently there’s a shelf life on drywall mud once it’s opened! I have a 1/2 full tub all full of black mold . I suppose I’ll get up early and fight through all the crazies in town tomorrow morning! Happy Thanksgiving, stay safe all you Black Friday shoppers!

Pullstart 62,916 #116 Posted December 4, 2019 I’ve been dreading this step. Why? Couldn’t tell ya... I’m sure it’ll work out just fine! I need to make the first mortar bed base with slope to the drain. The drain is a 24” x 4” rectangle and I’ve been thinking of the best way to make it all work. First rule of plumbing... poop runs down hill! Well, anything wet does. I’ve watched videos and videos but probably won’t know what’s best for me until I dive in. Well, I’m jumping in! I’ll also add that I do realize the HardieBacker cement board isn’t screwed everywhere. I took advantage of my helping hand to get the sheets cut and hung. I’ll go back and shoot screws before I finish... I swear!
Pullstart 62,916 #117 Posted December 4, 2019 And what good is a project without a new tool!? I need a garden hoe to mix the mud. I can’t find it. I believe I recall it broke. I found an old broken handle and made up a few bits of steel. Whaaah lah!

Pullstart 62,916 #119 Posted December 4, 2019 I took the edge off the corners with sandpaper, but didn’t do any machine shaping. I figure with the slight warpage with each board, things won’t fit perfect anywho.
Pullstart 62,916 #120 Posted December 4, 2019 Our second batch of mud is a tiny bit soupy. I guess that means we’ll take a lunch break and keep working it!
Pullstart 62,916 #121 Posted December 4, 2019 The base layer is mostly complete. I need it to dry enough to be able crawl all over it. Here’s a picture of the drain assembly too. The center of the tray will be tiled and it’s removable for clean outs, etc.
