Shynon 7,470 #1 Posted July 5, 2018 So i picked up this 1054 over a year ago. Finally decided to get busy on it. Pulled the hubs off, i knew it had a bad wheel bearing. Plan was to put an 8 pinion differential in it. Found part of the spider gear differential broken. Got it pretty much cleaned up, 8 pinion cleaned and waiting. Next up cut the snap ring grooves into the axles. 3

19richie66 17,531 #13 Posted July 6, 2018 Couldn’t you use a gt14 differential and axles? I think I have a diff and axles from one I could measure.

19richie66 17,531 #15 Posted July 6, 2018 Got it. Could you use and 8speed diff with gt14 axles? Then you wouldn’t have to cut the snap ring grooves? Just asking for future reference.

Couldn't you use the roll pins rather than snap rings? Tried the axles with roll pins and the differential will not go together. The gear is 5/16 from end of axle with snap ring and 7/16 from the end with roll pin thus tha axles touch and differential is approx. 1/4" or less from going together. Pulled off the motor and grill. Took steering wheel off and it looks like a homemade taper fit to the shaft no key. 1
