cleat 6,042 #1 Posted June 25, 2018 I have a couple of machines missing the proper battery hold down. So I decided to make my own out of stainless (of course). Hook rods are cold rolled steel. I threaded the hook rods then heated and bent them. They have been bead blasted and first coat of paint applied. Battery hod down rods are heated and bent. Angle has been cut. Just need to weld and polish them and job done. Here are the plans. Wheel Horse battery hold down.pdf Here are a couple of pics with the factory piece also shown. I will post more when the job is done ! Cleat Wheel Horse battery hold down.pdf 7

Pollack Pete 2,273 #4 Posted June 26, 2018 VERY nice battery hold downs.I've made many myself out of mild steel.I've bought many Horses that had them missing.I just can't believe battery acid ate them all.Must be,when some people change a battery, they toss the hardware??? cleat 6,042 #11 Posted August 6, 2018 Well, I really could not beat these guys for price. https://www.mowerpartpros.com/OEMpartfinder.htm#/Toro_Consumer/73501,_520-H_Garden_Tractor,_1996_(SN_69000001-69999999)/BATTERY_&_HEADLIGHTS_ASSEMBLY/73501-19414-1996/3317-890-|~8900041-00036 It was a deal for me by making my own and I have now used up all my raw materials. Warning:Unsupervised 81 #12 Posted April 17, 2021 My original bracket keeps coroding in areas the coating came off at. Painted it a few times but it still comes right back so I need to get some some plasti-dip I guess?
