motor12 367 #1 Posted June 20, 2018 Does anyone have a cut away drawing of the (Eaton SAF-T-VUE) oil bath air cleaner used on some 60s/70s Kohler K90/91 engines. I have one that is missing the mesh that is coated in oil. Also what substitute material can be used as I am sure any OEM stuff is no where to be found. Any good pictures would help also thanks.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,243 #2 Posted June 20, 2018 Would the stainless steel balls/pads that are sold as pot scrubbers work? Should last forever. Garry
AMC RULES 37,146 #3 Posted June 21, 2018 You mean this stuff? Try this Ebay search..."oil bath air cleaner element"
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,243 #4 Posted June 21, 2018 As long as it is not steel which could rust and break down in time and get sucked into the engine. Garry
Kurt-NEPA 755 #5 Posted June 22, 2018 (edited) Long shot, but you might try the mesh from a Ford 8N tractor oil bath cleaner. Probably have to cut it down. Try this. https://www.just8ns.com/8N9601-Years-All-Wire-Mesh-Air-Cleaner-2-REQUIRED Edited June 23, 2018 by Kurt-NEPA
motor12 367 #6 Posted June 23, 2018 Thanks guys, think the stainless steel scrubbing balls will work the best for this application. I stretched and pulled on one to see if any small bits would come off and they didn't. After coated in 40 wt. oil the should work fine.
