I don't have the answers but I'm curious to see.

How are you producing the new ones?

The new ones will still be printed but out of copper and/or aluminum. Some will be chromed, painted, and/or epoxied. Also there will be other designs with more "realistic" horse head/mane.

They only had the one style and from all I've seen it ended in 1975. Different styles would be great but I'd suggest including an original reproduction in your selections. :)

Glen Pettit had some made up that are outstanding, but the chroming process wasn't working out well. He is recovering from a stroke now and we pray he will be back with us soon.

Thank you all for the input. That last white design is mine. I will have one in copper and aluminum soon. Also am working on something akin to the one Glen was making. I will also be creating some custom stuff.

I'm thinking a Buick 'gun sight' type ornament would look good.

Wasn't familiar with that one so I had to ask Mrs Google for pictures. That's an interesting ornament.

Browsing this thread led me to Google "funny hood ornaments".

... don't do that. Surely folks don't put such things on a vehicle...

But one did seem harmless enough:

I recently began pondering what all i could 3d print to dress up a horse. I'm pretty good with deaign sofware and came up with a couple small items to start, and figured i can easily print things like headlight covers, hood ornaments, and badges of all sorts. Then I wondered if maybe rather than a decal if i 3d printed an embossed plate or sorts with the appropriate graphics in 3d. These could be enamel painted, or printed in a silver that would give a brushed nickel type of finish.
Here's a couple photos of what ive created thus far in some gray test material. Please let me know what ya think.
