PeacemakerJack 10,738 #1 Posted June 15, 2018 We have a summer touring college group in for a couple of days to do interact with our church youth group. I asked their director/chaperone (a long time friend) if they would like to go shooting yesterday. They did. We had a great time. There were 8 young ladies and 3 young men. Some of them had grown up around guns and were accomplished shooters in their own right. Several had never fired a gun. So, after some safety instructions, we spent time one on one down range shooting 22’s, 9mm, 45’s, 223’s, etc. I had brought along my cousin’s big 50 BMG single shot for anyone crazy enough to give it a try. All three guys were in and surprisingly three of the girls. I let everyone watch me shoot it before so they could see its powerful effects on my 180 lb frame. It blew my baseball cap off which was an unexpected but perfect touch. This young lady maybe weighed 95 lbs but she was insistent on trying it... She wasn’t hurt but definitely has a new respect for the Fiddy Cal! If you watch closely the effect on the ground/weeds on both sides of the muzzle brake—amazing! 750 grain FMJ bullet behind 240 grains of H50 powder equates to about 10,000 lbs of muzzle energy! Beastly! 3

PeacemakerJack 10,738 #3 Posted June 15, 2018 Needless to say she wanted to keep the spent brass as a souvenir for the time when the one on her shoulder had blended back in! All six of them felt cool afterwards because they had shot the big beast and survived...

19richie66 17,500 #5 Posted June 15, 2018 Largest I have shot is the ‘03 Springfield 30-06. It spits fire and lets you know it’s there.

19richie66 17,500 #7 Posted June 15, 2018 I just recently got my father’s remington 870 he carried when he was with the state. It was his personal shotgun but they let him carry it.I can’t wait to get a chance to shoot it.
