Doc16743 2 #1 Posted June 13, 2018 Name here is Dave and located in the mountains of North-Central PA. This group was suggested to me by members of the .io group "Wheelhorsegardentractors". I have a 312-8 that is at least 20 years old (don't know if they can be dated) with a 42" rear discharge mower. Used when I bought it in 2000, it still runs great, but is showing its' age! I'm not a mechanic or even handy with tools so I don't bring much to the table, but I suspect I might learn something just by hanging around people who DO know! Thanks! gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,041 #3 Posted June 13, 2018 Welcome to the forum The wide hood decals have a maroon background on the 1985-1989 models. 1990-on the background is black. There should have been a decal on the rear fender pan under the seat that had the model number, serial number and Julian build date on it. It may be long gone or unreadable. Post the numbers off the engine decal including the serial number. Sometimes we can ID the model from them. Garry

Tractor info is: Model - 3112K802 Serial - 1037240 Engine ID is: Model - H12S Type - 471527 Serial - 2034709273 I don't suspect this is "vintage" or a collector's model, but it is a workhorse! In 18 years I've only had to replace the PTO belt once and the drive belt once. Clutch and brake are all original. Had to replace the little timing thingy on the flywheel and rear tires, and only today replacing one of the front tires! Everything shoud last as well as the Wheelhorse!! Thanks Dave
