TC10284 111 #1 Posted June 7, 2018 (edited) Rebuilding a P220G with a broken piston. This might be a dumb question, but what is the proper process to remove the crankshaft gear? Do I use a puller, and is there any screws to remove from the gear? I'm down the removing the gear on the crankshaft, and possibly the camshaft gear. Here is a picture if needed. SPINJIM 1,981 #2 Posted June 7, 2018 If you Google Wheel Horse 520 rebuild, you should find Craig Arnodt's (sorry if the spelling is wrong Craig) video on U-tube. There are approx. 30 videos, and I think half of them are on the Onan P220. Good luck. Jim

At the point of removing the crankshaft gear, he describes welding some metal together to remove the gear. What I'm not sure of is if there are any screws in the threaded holes of the gear. And it skips past the camshaft removal. It may be simple though. I'll keep looking.
lynnmor 7,487 #4 Posted June 7, 2018 The manual shows screwing a pulling ring to the gear with 10-32 screws, then use a puller on the ring.
