Horse Play 393 #1 Posted May 27, 2018 My RJ58 is missing the anchor for the brake return spring. I want to make one, but haven't a clue what is looks like. Can someone post photos and some dimensions for me? Also, can anyone recommend a source for a replacement spring? Thanks for any help!
stevasaurus 22,869 #2 Posted May 27, 2018 Here is a picture of it just below the axle. It is 1/2" wide, 1" long and 1/4" stock and is flat.. The bolts that hold the side plates on are 1/2"...the bolt that holds on this piece is 3/4". It has a 1/4" hole for the end of the spring. They are easy to make.

Horse Play 393 #4 Posted May 28, 2018 Thank you very much, Steve. Seems like a simple enough part. Thanks, roadapples - I'll check out TSC. 1
Horse Play 393 #5 Posted August 23, 2018 OK, next stupid question: one end of the spring attaches to the anchor - where does the other end attach?

953 nut 55,823 #8 Posted August 23, 2018 I don't have an assembled RJ any more, but if I remember right there was a trunnion on the end of the linkage and the spring went through the eye of the cotter key that held it in place on the cross bar to the clutch.
