oneroadkingman 53 #4 Posted May 11, 2018 Thanks cleat I'm going to look into that for mine my problem is the previous owner started cutting wires because the fuses were blown so I got to figure out what did he cut what did he try to bypass to get the thing to work cuz now I can't get it to work
peter lena 8,957 #5 Posted May 11, 2018 wiring issues are usually , neglect and chaffed wires. cleat did the right thing with removal and a replacement to a fail safe wire block connection. I regularly use DIELECTRIC GREASE on all my electrical connections and base ground fittings, no corrosion and positive wire connection. found many wire connections very tight or binding, causing shorts . easy to reroute/ lengthen, with a non binding fit. I found many points to correct and isolate, regularly check out your horse, prevent a break down. Pete

Rick Smith 0 #7 Posted January 26 Cleat, where did you find the 9 pin waterproof connectors? I'm interested in buying those. Thank you.
Wayne0 685 #8 Posted January 26 (edited) You really don't need the 9 pin connector unless you plan on swapping the motor in the future. You can use H2O proof in line fuses and H2O proof crimp connectors to eliminate it. Many here have done it. It's a very common trouble spot. I keep the 9 pin because I have several machines with Onan engines and if need be I can easily swap engines if ever needed.
