Hope so. The wife and I had fun getting it home. We spent about 45 min trying to identify the year and model it is, a process of elimination. Didn't realize how many things you had to look for in order to achieve that.

I love the old Ford's.  The 9N and 2N are real performers even by today standards.  I'm running an 8N and 660, fun to work 60 plus year old tractors.

Check out the N Tractor Club for a wealth of information.

Nice score!! Should be a fun project. I can't show this post to my wife, she's been bugging me for a N model for quite a while. I would rather find an 8N for her. I don't like the clutch & the left brake being on the same side of the tractor, I've never understand that design.

The front distributor is not as bad to work on as most people would have think. Remember these tractors were made to be used and maintained by farmers and are simple to work on. Tuned up the neighbors 9N this winter and it was an enjoyable experience. Lots of info on YouTube.

Enjoy your tractor :)

If you don't have some manuals on it, send me a pm with your email address and I can send you some manuals on your tractor.  BTW, I have found that not all emails can handle large files, so I usually recommend you get an email account that can handle the larger files.  Gmail is free and can handle up to 25m of data, which isn't bad.

I have the master parts list, the service manual, and a shop manual, plus I do have brochures, but they cover the 8N and newer Fords.

Took some time today to remove the hood and do some exploratory surgery. So far we have a good candidate. The engine turns by hand and all four cylinders have compression. The fuel tank is not looking so good. A lot of rust inside. It's hard to tell from pic but the underside of hood where the tank was still has the original dark gray paint on it. Ashame she sat outside for so long.

T-MO started a thread about his N Series Fords in the excitement I began to hog his post, I had started my own sometime ago.  Sorry T.  Long story short I got tired of seeing the condition of this old girl and drove her into the shop and work started about a month ago.   So fast-forward, here's some pics of the progress.

The right rear tire went flat.  Expanding foam was used to repair the wheel, some type of farm fix I guess.  The wheel has been cleaned, repaired, painted and I am waiting on the new tire, these rear wheels are called Top Hat wheels and can be rather hard to find.

Here's some pics of the tractor after much of the cleaning and painting has been done.

The steering wheel didn't turnout as I had planed, the epoxy that I used to repair the cracks didn't harden and left a sticky mess.  Good old electrician's tape to the rescue. IMG_1765.JPG.2397bfa153d21351e03c9ff2cff921be.JPG

The hood is still not finished.

You can get a reproduction steering wheel from a few places, Steiner's, Dennis Carpenter's, Just8Ns, etc.  The good thing about the N-Series Fords, parts aren't hard to find, new or used.

Thank you. I've used Yesterdaystractors before, fair pricing and I have no quality complaints so far.  It seems they ship from the west coast, a week for me to receive my order is not unusual.

The rear tire arrived this afternoon, it's a match for the one I already have.

The tube I ordered about a week ago.

It came off eBay from Tire Geek, these guys ship fast.  On my doorstep in less than 24Hrs.

The wheel & hub waiting ready to go.

Mount em up!!

Getting closer.IMG_1775.JPG.f478d99d8ca43bbd665bd8e715fc70c7.JPG

I've got two coats on the hood, the paint got real runny.  The temps reached into the low 90's and humid, not good weather for painting.

After the paint hardens I will try some wet sanding.  It needs it.

I picked this up last week, just had to have it.  A Ford Ferguson double bottom plow.   IMG_1778.JPG.8f341c61f8152e7fd5832b40dfaeac58.JPGIMG_1780.JPG.69be70b6db492c5aec3099d60384b26f.JPGIMG_1779.JPG.55eb05fea10fd706a562c4041524e83a.JPG

I paid $50.00, it was going to the scrapyard.  He has some other items.  There is complete cultivator, it may be a Ferguson unit.

That  is a great price - and a great save.  You might as well add the cultivator to your collection.

Thanks, I might stop and take a second look at the cultivator.  The framework looked to have similarities to the plow.  Collection is right, I hope to someday have a use for some of the stuff, otherwise the hoard is taking up more space.  I have these reels, I just need to figure out a lift/carrier system for the three point. :eusa-think: Someone had half heartedly through these together as a drag behind, they are quite difficult to tow.  These would be cool hanging off the back of the 2N.
