Keith 21 #1 Posted May 1, 2018 I got a Chinese carb for my K341 and the air cleaner screws won't fit. I suppose I can re-tap the holes.
ebinmaine 66,582 #2 Posted May 1, 2018 They're likely tapped metric. You could bring the carb to the hardware store and get some correct fasteners.
rmaynard 15,308 #3 Posted May 1, 2018 Good lesson for anyone considering the purchase is a Chinese carburetor. Always look for one that advertises SAE (American) threads and correct choke. Not only are the screws metric on most imports, but so is the inlet for the fuel. Many have the choke lever backwards as well.

WHX?? 48,067 #7 Posted May 2, 2018 (edited) Might be 6's on the bigger carbs.... Try standard threads as Bob said some may be standard. Don't forget backing & lock washers don't want one of those screws coming loose and (try to) go thru the motor! Keith 21 #8 Posted May 4, 2018 The screws were 5mm, all I found were too long so I will grind them down to fit.
