richmondred01 2,237 #1 Posted April 30, 2018 Got the out front deck installed today. It’s works well even lacking the gauge wheels. It cut very well and it reached far under the trees. I was also able to reach areas into a drainage ditch that typically requires a string trimmer. The only drawback is when I put it into the shed. It’s rather long and I’m afraid that it’s novelty will wear off soon when I need space. Im thinking that the room it takes up is a deal breaker for me. It may need a new home. 13 1
ericj 1,578 #2 Posted May 1, 2018 I bought a NOS one years ago at the show but it was missing the mounting hardware, bought another used one and had the hardware duplicated, I think I might have lost the pieces in the shed. what I want to know is what belt does it take from the tractor to the deck. thanks eric j
richmondred01 2,237 #3 Posted May 1, 2018 Mine has the 42 inch deck on it and the same belt I used for the out front as used for the belly. It works fine. Cut down some very tall grass. No slips.

peter lena 8,583 #7 Posted May 1, 2018 I would like to find a similar forward frame for my 310, looks like it would be a smooth easy pusher with those swivel caster wheels. don't those decks swing up easily ?
pfrederi 17,669 #8 Posted May 1, 2018 Only the 48" deck swings up with out any thing else required. The 42s require you to unhook the belt (not a big deal). 48SD require belt 102742 42SD 109956 Single Cylinder 102742 twin cylinder

I know of a front carrier in a CL listing in Indiana. I have no idea how complete it may be or if it has issues........just mentioning the listing. I am not at all familiar with the implement frame, so my good judgement about it is lacking. If you would like to see the link, PM me and I'll send it to you. peter lena 8,583 #10 Posted May 2, 2018 thank you Steve, for the heads up. but I would like to get it closer if possible to eliminate shipping . I am going to the Colchester , conn show this weekend, hopefully I can round one up. thank you , pete
richmondred01 2,237 #11 Posted May 7, 2018 Got some new gauge wheels and swapped decks with another 42 I had in the back of the shed. It works very good. And everyone was right it flips up for storage. It’s still a larger then I have space for and it will be looking for a new home shortly.
pyroplegic 55 #12 Posted May 7, 2018 Sorry for the resurection of the other mower thread. This is the one I see on my CL. I could see a hazard using a RD deck with this or not so? I get it for undercutting trees and shrubs Does this make the tractor more capable? Will it fully articulate out there? Tip down & up to cut steep hills too? Will this help more like bush hog with taller grasses?
squonk 41,030 #13 Posted May 7, 2018 You cannot use a RD deck with this. The rear hanger wheels will not line up correctly

Squonk is correct plus the blowback would be ugly. it does a good job cutting going up and down my drainage ditch.

ztnoo 2,298 #18 Posted April 16, 2019 @richmondred01, Sorry to report all your photo links are dead/broken in this thread. Did you get bitten by the Photobucket screw over? If you have those pics saved on another device it would be great to see some selective editing to those dead links in the posts in this thread. Just a heads up...... The Tuul Crib 7,336 #23 Posted April 17, 2019 What is the real purpose of having this type of sett up? What would have been its application? Was there a need for this other than a golf course?
