ebinmaine 67,266 #1 Posted April 25, 2018 I was realizing a day or two ago that I had not had time to touch my project c-160 for a few days. Lots of good stuff going on. The weather is finally warming up just a tad. We are getting back to the reorganizing stuff around the property. I have to do some digging around my workshop and replace a rotten board or two. Working on a trail to be able to get the tractor down into the forest. Have to build a bridge or two. We've been making hiking and mountain biking trails around our property perimeter. Start moving some cordwood pretty soon. The house will get a Fresh coat of paint and some trim replaced this year. And of course, hiking season is here for us. That's going to occupy a lot of time and it's awesome! We have so much going on right now that the other day I actually cancelled my internet and we already didn't have cable. No time to use it. So what kind of stuff are you all up to right now or for the next few months that keeps you too busy to keep your head screwed on straight??
dclarke 4,032 #2 Posted April 25, 2018 Good thread, Eric. We watch our three grandkids, ages 4,3 and 1 a couple days a week and I take care of a small 5 acre cemetery, that takes me a couple of days to mow. I also set those bronze military markers on veteran's graves, I'm pouring concrete bases for some of those today. I mow a couple of neighbor's yards and for some reason I seem to be the neighborhood lawn mower repair guy...... We've done a bit of hiking in your neighborhood at Acadia, we really like that area. 4
Mike'sHorseBarn 2,984 #3 Posted April 25, 2018 I haven't touched my projects in a while either. I need to: 1. sand & paint the floor of the wrap around porch 2. repair some lattice work around the base of the porch 3. put some edging around my wife's flower beds 4. remove some bushes from around the garage. 5. Put up spouting on the garage, and fix a poor drainage problem around that said garage. 6. Remove some old shrubbery around the house when fall comes. Other than that not a whole lot 1
SteveK440 30 #4 Posted April 25, 2018 I'll trade some of you guys....Been trying to find someone for two years who will cut down several trees but thankfully I have the budget. Started to wire my shed for 220 and found out I will need to replace an outdated and possible fire hazard Zinsco meter base along with about $500 of service entrance wire and all the extras........
Racinbob 11,040 #5 Posted April 25, 2018 Compared to last summer I'll have it easy this year. Replace numerous sections of damaged siding on house. Completely rewire the garage ‘down the hill’. Install gutters on same garage. Remove old windows, repair sills and frames, install new windows on garage ‘up the hill’. Completely gut the other half of the basement eliminating the original stairway and rebuild to suit. Complete rewire of original part of house. Install generator transfer switch. Remodel laundry room and lower level bathroom. Replumb original part of house removing the remaining iron pipe. Install exhaust fan in 2nd floor bathroom. Install kitchen cabinet fronts that I made last summer. Install storm/screen doors on basement French door. Make and install window trim on 2nd floor. Wire neighbors new barn. Oh yea, the fun stuff: Replace K-341 on the 76. Finish the 500 Special. Rebuild snowblower. Go to the big show. 3

I wouldn't procrastinate on getting that done. Zinsco and Federal Pacific aren't 'possible' fire hazards, they are definite fire hazards.

RandyLittrell 3,877 #10 Posted April 26, 2018 Well, add a bathroom in the basement along with tankless water heater and water softener. Need to finish replacing old water pipes with PEX (1920 house). Put a ceiling in the bedroom of the basement and paint the house. Lots of yard work to be done that I have put off forever. Deck really needs some repairs and pressure washed. Add 30 amp service with water and sewer out at my shop so we can plug the camper in there. Dirt and gravel work to park the camper on. Need more storage for Horses and Cubs at the shop. More gravel work at the shop. Hopefully work in some work on tractors in between all the other stuff that there is no way I will get all done. Oh, and my Son is getting married in August!! Sarge 3,463 #11 Posted April 28, 2018 Playing on a wind farm at the moment - things have been a bit interesting, to say the least with the up/down weather. Yesterday did not go well at all - I'm usually "The Target" flagging traffic, but got roped into helping get some equipment moving again which went south pretty quickly. Took 8 semi loads of clay to fix the soft spots... My usual office position - these rural country roads and landscape can be both boring and terrifying at the same time, local folks fly through here regularly without warning and a lot of small hills. Nothing like being dead quiet for awhile waiting for more trucks, then some nut goes by at 70mph...lol. Sarge
JPWH 6,032 #12 Posted April 28, 2018 (edited) I just recently finished remodeling our living room and gave a little hall way a fresh coat of paint. The little hallway has 5 door trims and is only about 7x7. I have been reorganizing my shop. Started building a moveable vice table. Finished the vice table and used it. Worked very well. Tomorrow I'm going to pour a footing under an an existing slab for the shop addition. Also doing some yard work in the cooler part of the day. ebinmaine 67,266 #13 Posted April 29, 2018 Busy couple days here. Nice! Friend of mine walked the "border trail" with me Friday. Yesterday my honey and I hiked a local mountain as a warm up. Then other friends of ours walked the "border trail" with us again yesterday afternoon. Today my neighbor came over with his bx22 and we started on the excavation of the front of the shed and moved the dirt we took out down into the future trail. I'll get pics later when the rain stops.
JPWH 6,032 #14 Posted May 3, 2018 I think this project will be ongoing for a while. Got the stand all tacked up. Still need to build the motor support, finish the tool box shelf and weld everything solid. At least it's off the floor and will soon have wheels as well.
ebinmaine 67,266 #15 Posted May 4, 2018 Here's some pics of a small part of the project we're doing in front of the shed. We were scraping gravel today and found that the conduit for power was only 4 to 6 in underground and rising over the years. We dug a ditch about 2 ft deep and will be sinking it. We will be removing about 2 feet of depth of soil in front of the shed and making a ramp that will go out to the forest and across the other way to the back of the house. All covered with stones.
