bo dawg 516 #1 Posted April 24, 2018 Ok, if a person wants original OEM oil filter that fits on the 520 with the Onan 20 hp would that be PN 122-0800? Or did Toro have a different one with their PN NN10147? What is the correct length of the correct filter? I've went with a replacement after I bought the tractor which is my first WH tractor that takes a filter. Lol! But I just want to know. The more I research I see many different lengths. The one I got now barely sticks out enough to get a hold of it to remove. Thanks Bo.
WVHillbilly520H 10,374 #2 Posted April 24, 2018 Toro #137-5012, which is the the Cummins/Onan 122-0800 or NN10147 they are white now, Jeff.
cleat 6,731 #3 Posted April 24, 2018 The 122-0800 should stick out enough to remove. Much longer and you could not get it out. 122-0645 is a shorter version of the 0800. That one would really be a pain to get a wrench on. I have purchased a NAPA 1762 to try next oil change on one of my 520's It is just a fraction of an inch longer so I hope it will clear everything to install it.
boomers_influence 106 #4 Posted April 24, 2018 bo the 122-0800 is mainly for the Big Block engine 4.2" long. ( P 224, T-260 N series etc. ) the small block is usually the 122-0645, 3.5" long. thank you. boomer ( the used onan engine parts guy, also NOS and new )
WHX?? 49,508 #5 Posted April 24, 2018 Those are the correct numbers Bo. I have been using a NAPA 1762 and will work fine Cleat...buried behind the cab but you get the idea. 1
squonk 41,650 #6 Posted April 24, 2018 Napa 1763 has a hex on the end for wrench. It's a tad longer but still fits 1

So the original length when you would buy the tractor new would of been 3 1/2" long?
Hoosier Hydro 520 3 #9 Posted April 25, 2018 I use Motorcraft FL-400S..Perfect fit and clearance..also reasonable price..

Yes the original was a bit shorter than what I use now but an extra pint of oil can't hurt... 6 hours ago, bo dawg said: I hate white filter sticking out of a black motor. Lol! I wasn't to happy about white either but it's better than an orange Fram...

lynnmor 7,388 #12 Posted April 25, 2018 I use the longer -0800 filter, that is what was on the 1991 when new, although the book called for the shorter one. I tried the smooth NAPA once, but hate not being able to use an oil filter socket. 1

bo dawg 516 #17 Posted May 5, 2018 Well I chose to go with original Toro spec oil filter from RCPW. Ship is free and price was cheap. The replacement PN NN10147 or 10143 is 108-3817. So it is longer than Onan 122-0800, plus its white which is ok, but it is slightly smaller OD and now the foam ring is loose going over it and wont stay on. Need to figure out what to do about that! So I think I will go with the Onan filter next.
EricF 589 #18 Posted May 10, 2018 I replaced mine with the Stens 120517 from RPCW -- it's plenty long enough to get a grip on and the rubber gasket is nice and snug on it.
