CountryRock 199 #1 Posted April 7, 2018 I'm trying to figure out how to drain the fluid from the 751 Transaxle in my 246H without having to tear the thing all apart. I have the manual for the transaxle, I know what oil I need, but I can't find anything that says if theres a drain plug on the underside or not. Does anybody know what I need to do to drain this thing? Am I going to have to just suck the oil out? Thanks for any and all help.
CountryRock 199 #2 Posted April 10, 2018 Nobody has experience with this type of transaxle?
WVHillbilly520H 10,374 #3 Posted April 10, 2018 Don't have any experience with those model lawn tractors, maybe @gwest_ca has some other manuals to help you out, until then you might try jacking it up or using car ramps to back up on just for clearance to actually look for a plug usually they are just simple pipe plugs with an Allen head for removal/install, Jeff. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,102 #4 Posted April 10, 2018 Found this in the service manual Page 2 and page 6 The only reference I can find. See nothing in the illustrated parts lists. Garry
CountryRock 199 #5 Posted April 10, 2018 I have that manual and never noticed the part about the self tapping screw in the drain port. I think I'm just going to get one of those drill pumps and suck as much out as I can. Tractor manual says it has 1.75qt of sae 30 in it. Got 2 fresh quarts of sae 30 Pennzoil the other day for it.
