elcamino/wheelhorse 9,297 #1 Posted April 7, 2018 I asked the this question for the last two years and never got an answer so here goes my third strike . Do you guys @stevasaurus, @squonk, @953 nut. and @857 horse ( and anybody else going to the Big Show ) get together for dinner on Thursday night ? Not all of us show up on Wednesday. Thanks in advance.

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,297 #4 Posted April 7, 2018 @953 nut I don't even know where the Blue Sky Motel is located. I think @roadapples would be the perfect person to make a suggestion on an eatery. He can drive his C-160 from his home to the Big Show. 1

We would never know when Jim got there, He's like "The Phantom"! We've hit Texas Roadhouse the last two years on Thursday. I always get ribs. That CJ's sounds interesting. Friday night is kind of hit and miss with the show going on and the ice cream and cruise. We could hit CJ's on one night and the roadie on another. 2

stevasaurus 22,713 #8 Posted April 7, 2018 That is a yes Jim. Chris and I usually do the Mexican restaurant or the Texan and usually some of the group will join us. We have about 4 or 5 places that we have found that we like to go to during the show. 2

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,297 #10 Posted April 7, 2018 @953 nut CJ's sounds interesting nice selection and @squonk I would reply but this is a family style forum so I ' tell you in person in June and thanks @stevasaurusand @19richie66 thanks for chiming in . I still think the local C-160 owner ( @roadapples ) would know of some classy dive that would meet all our taste bud needs.
roadapples 6,983 #11 Posted April 7, 2018 When in Chambersburg we usually go to Bonanza across from Lowe's or Chinese in front of Wal-Mart. Both places buffet.. They lose money on me... 3

dells68 7,498 #14 Posted April 7, 2018 Now slow down fellas! If we keep going at this pace with over two months to go, we're all gonna need pacemakers! Im like a kid waiting on Christmas. Heck the older I get, the more I realize it's almost better than Christmas (goodies and friend wise that is)! 3
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,297 #15 Posted April 7, 2018 Maybe we could all find a great big buffet place that has EMTs on staff. Over eat , EMT treats the problem , back to the food. 1 1

stevasaurus 22,713 #21 Posted April 9, 2018 If anyone wants to really go on the High End...the Copper Kettle Restaurant featuring Prime Rib, Steaks, Sea Food and cocktails is excellent. It is located on rt #30 just west of US #81. Oysters on the 1/2 shell and Prime Rib with scotch on the rocks. 3
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,297 #22 Posted April 9, 2018 We can't waste money on high cost food , too many tractors , too vendors to throw our money at . We all expect the look when we get back home with our treasures . 1

I kinda wanted to go there the last time but it didn't happen. It's not 100% certain that Nancy will be tagging along this year but if she does I guarantee you she'll be getting the jumbo lump crab cakes.
stevasaurus 22,713 #25 Posted April 10, 2018 The Copper Kettle is really setup for a crowd of like 2 to 8 persons. It is a house that is made into a bunch of separate dinning rooms. The link contains the menu and pictures of the dining areas. I would guess that 2 for dinner, horse dourves, cocktails and tip would be around $70 to $100. http://www.thecopperkettlerestaurant.com/ Chris and I have been sampling the restaurants around Chambersburg and Scotland for 7 or 8 years. For me, I kind of like to have a cocktail or a beer with dinner...most of the buffets around there do not serve drinks. Now don't get me wrong...I am not above having an ice tea with dinner, but this is a vacation for us. Some of those buffets are real good also and an excellent value. Tough choices exist at the show when you only have 3 or 4 nights to go out...and don't forget the ham & baked bean dinner at the show on Friday Night Cruse Night. For those that are going for the 1st time...a list of places we have been to that are good. Montezuma's Mexican Restaurant...Chambersburg ***** Copper Kettle....Chambersburg ***** Supreme Buffet...Chambersburg **** get here early...they line up out the door Bonanza Steak house...Chambersburg **** pretty good, nice and clean Texas Raodhouse...Chambersburg ***** Excellent ribs with a guiness Asian Buffet...Scotland **** this place was very good Italian Village...Scotland ***** Wednesday Night...no drinks, but I think you can bring in your own wine?? Greenvillage Drive in...Scotland **** no drinks, excellent chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoe joint The old folks eat here so you know it is good and reasonable. I'm sure there are many other fine places to eat...these are just the ones we have been to and liked.
