demedeirosa 0 #1 Posted April 2, 2018 Hey All, Going through my 252-H I bought and need to replace the blades. Toro calls them out as 109079, which I can get local, but are about $55. Someone recommended I look at Oregon Gator blades, I can find ones that are the correct length (18 1/2" I think) and have the correct 3/4" center hole. However, how do I know which lift to buy? Any other issues with this approach? Or should I just buy the OEM? Thanks!
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,032 #2 Posted April 2, 2018 Check out these Napa 2 of # 7-04724 Oregon 2 of # 91-817 If using a bagger I believe it calls for different blades. The 07-07BK01 and 07-07BK02 baggers use different blades and to add to the confusion the left and right blades are different on both of them. The difference may be in the blade center holes but have not been able to prove it. Garry
demedeirosa 0 #3 Posted April 2, 2018 Thanks Garry, I called Oregon and they didnt have a direct cross reference, but based on length, she recommended 599-133. This is a 3" wide blade, and OEM is a 2" wide. Would that be an issue? I am using a bagger. The blades you mention have air lift called out as 1, not sure if that means they are ok for a bagger? gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,032 #4 Posted April 3, 2018 Found this http://www.lawnmowerpartsoutlet.com/Standard-Lift-Lawn-Mower-Blade-For-Toro-109918-109079_p_1497.html If the bagger is used only the right side blade is replaced with a high lift blade. I still think the 07-07BK01 bagger kit was for mowers with 5/8" x 3/4" double-D blades. The 2nd 07-07BK02 bagger kit uses different blades but includes a bushing to adapt the 3/4" blade to a 5/8" x 3/4" double-D shaft. Too many blade part numbers to compare. Single blade part number also available in the 2-blade set with a different part number. Right blade part number plus another for a right blade kit that includes the bolt-on lift tab. Now times this by 2 for the different spindle shafts. See the blades are listed as 18-3/4" long. This measurement is taken diagonally from tip to tip which sounds correct for a 18-1/2" blade measured end to end. Garry
demedeirosa 0 #5 Posted April 3, 2018 Thanks Garry! I ended up purchasing the standard 109079 last night from a local retailer. I'm going to give it a shot, if they dont work, I will try the bagger blades. Thanks!
