1998 269H with a CV20S? 20hp?

Just hauled a couple more home and the 2XX already has me confused.  I read the engine tag, saw it was a 20hp and promptly decided it must be a 270H.  Model and Serial was thought to be a 269H according to:

I found this on this forum which indicates it's a 1998 269H, but with a CV19S and this one has a CV20S

I also found it interesting that it has an electric powered hydro pump to lift it's 52" recycler deck.  First 52" WH deck I've seen.  Came with a good hood off another 26X, other than the usual lower most part of the grill is gone.  Problem is it needs a drive belt and I gather that's 4-6 hours of pure fun!  Any thoughts and tips appreciated!

 

Oh, that WH partially riding on the cab is a 312H.  Tag is missing and I didn't get the engine tag number.  Got funky little wheels on the front.  Not sure I like that or if that's going to be good for a snowblower, but she's slated for use in the snow, with either blower or blade.

I guess someone didn't like the reverse offset wheels on that 26x, the white wheels look to be from a CC or ZTR with the valve on the outside, the 312-8 I just picked up also has the 6" wheel, the believe the 8-12hp had 6" then 14 up got the 8" wheel, Jeff.

I didn't pickup on the wheels!  Well, I sort of did.  I was telling myself that it had a wide stance.  Yep, now I think it is quite a bit wider than my 264H!  Didn't notice the valves either!  But I sort of like that.

 

You got any thoughts on whether the smaller fronts will be suitable for a snow plow or blower rig?  Guess I could swap them out with another parts tractor.

 

You going to the Big Show?

I believe many a 310/12 was/is a blower rig with the single-stage, if you want to go with 8" wheels you'll need the spindles from a machine that had them, or you'll get the old "gasser" hot rod look , as far as the Big Show if I say yes then something will come up so I'll just say I would like to if the opportunity comes around, Jeff.

I'm planning on going, but then I've planned to go the last two years...

 

I don't care for the looks of the smaller fronts but I guess I can live with it.  Probably put roller chains on them.  Biggest issue I have with my C-85 snow pusher is steering.

i have a 72106 270h i changed battery and drive belt i  jumped it with a battery charger now my battery lite stays on i have 15.9 volts at regulator same on purple wire on plug  all the way to ignition switch i get 13.9 at the run  timer the lite goes off if i disconnect the lite module  it has 13.9 there at pink wires  its a new battery and as soon as i pull pto switch it kills it it wont run with battery disconnected any help or tests any one know of how to save me

Many have complained about module failures.

 

There are warnings about running an engine without a battery connected.  I don't know the consequences.

 

Voltage regulators need to see battery voltage to turn them on so to speak before they can regulate the charge current.

Regulators must be grounded so check the mounting screws for corrosion.

Do you have an analog meter to try. Sometimes the digital meters pick up stray noise from the engine that throws them off.

You may end up replacing the voltage regulator. 15.9 volts is hard on the battery.

If you have to run it will turning everything on drop the voltage to an acceptable level?

 

I would be adding a voltmeter before I would replace the module.
