cafoose 3,354 #1 Posted March 1, 2018 I saw this on craigslist they are asking 200 for it 65 miles away, what do you think? 7
WHX?? 48,763 #2 Posted March 1, 2018 I dunno buddy... 200 a little steep but I do see some things ther that might be worth while the trip IF he would come down a Franklin. The hood alone might make for some good shop deco or for another tractor?? Keep in mind they don't exactly make those hoods anymore.
WHX?? 48,763 #3 Posted March 1, 2018 I would be buying it just for that and the belt guard.

I'm kinda thinking the same thing looks a little rough for 200 maybe OK for 100. I have another one I'm thinking if I get it I can make one here's mine: 2
oliver2-44 9,679 #5 Posted March 1, 2018 Enlarging the photos that looks like a fairly complete suburban. Even the tranny shift boot appears to be ok which could mean some good gears in there. Even the steering wheel looks restorable. Go get it and combine the two and sell the rest of the parts. I see several parts I,d like to have

953 nut 55,065 #8 Posted March 1, 2018 If a suburban is what you want there is nothing better than starting with one that is fairly complete. Pick up a case pf PB Blaster on the way home! 3
classiccat 548 #9 Posted March 1, 2018 it's too bad that the filler tube wasn't plugged-up.
Tankman 3,518 #10 Posted March 1, 2018 (edited) A project, a very worthy one! Save that stallion! One piece at a time, restore. Enjoy, have fun, great Horse. Edited March 1, 2018 by Tankman 2
slim67 2,735 #11 Posted March 1, 2018 I just picked up two RJ58s last night with K91s. One starts and drives and the other is a good project for 400, The runner also has a good mower deck, ill post pics later. Me? Id probably do 150 but try 125 first. There not that easy to find around me.
Racinbob 11,040 #12 Posted March 1, 2018 I would go for it. Negotiate yes but if the seller won't budge still get it. Like others have said just the parts are worth it but I'd hate to see it parted out. That's a 1960, probably a 400, and even the throttle/choke controls look saveable.
Mike'sHorseBarn 2,984 #13 Posted March 1, 2018 If you don't go get this, let me know where it is since we are both PA residents! lol I have another k91 sitting on a shelf in the garage for something like that since that engine is most likely full of water and rust since the dipstick isn't in it. $200 is a little steep to me though.
Achto 27,502 #14 Posted March 1, 2018 I'd be on my way to get it. It looks in better shape than my Rat Rod did when I found it. Of course I'd try to get the price down a little. 4

That's a 1960, probably a 400, and even the throttle/choke controls look saveable. Have a 60 suburban that's not all there. For me I would give $150 in a heart beat for the parts. I would get a......better hood, belt gard, trans boot, levers, brackets..... and other parts I would have to pay more with shipping. The Ags look to be ok too. Almost droooooling with what I could score there
slim67 2,735 #18 Posted March 1, 2018 I paid 200 for a 1960 400 roller a couple years ago. I was happy just to have it. If you really want it then whether it's 125 or 200 , buy and have fun with it. Some deals are better than others but fortunately it's a difference of a few bucks not a few hundred.
WHX?? 48,763 #19 Posted March 1, 2018 The masters have spoken 'foose, all good points above! I do see a boot of sorts on the shifter so maybe tranny ain't filled with water? Go get it but pack yer wallet with small bills and dicker. Hopefully the sellers got some wiggle room for that can of PB blaster! Good luck & keep us posted

cafoose 3,354 #21 Posted March 1, 2018 They didn't leave a phone number only an email address so I replied to the ad a few hours ago and just got a response that it sold yesterday It was in Williamstown PA northeast of Harrisburg. I wonder if a member got it? 1
ACman 7,618 #22 Posted March 1, 2018 That’s the thing with these old nut roasters .... you got to be quick to catch a good Horse even one that’s left out to pasture. I’ve learned that if you even think it’s close to a good deal don’t hesitate there’s time to dicker and deal when you get there . Lost more than one from procrastinating . 6
