As you can see in the pictures above this one ... Trina spent some time putting the first coat of white on a few of the engine tins and other pieces. The inside of this flywheel cover is flat black instead of continuing the Navajo White theme on the inside of the cover because that way the unpainted flywheel will blend in better.

So I said to my Honey I was thinking about trying to draw out the word KOHLER on the side of the engine.

 

We talked about a couple different ways to go about doing it and then she took some cinnamon paint and a brush and...

Looking totally sweet there Eric and Trina—loving what you are doing with the cinnamon horse—the detail is great!  I see that full depth air cleaner looks right at home on there with the fresh matching paint.  The red letters on the white painted engine tin is gonna pop when the cinnamon hood is in place...can’t wait!

Thanks Josh!

Those letters are the same cinnamon color as the rest. She sprayed some cinnamon paint into the cap of a small bottle and then used a paint brush to apply the paint to the engine using tiny modeling brushes.

 

 

 

Couple more things painted this evening by Trina. The fuel tank is a 1.2 gallon tank from the auction pile. Believed to be from a mid-1960s Jacobsen or simplicity.

Nothing on them yet Craig... I hadn't made up my mind if I was going to just spray all of those the same color as the engine.

Painting will provide your best bet for rust protection, simply clearing them won't get it done Eric. Especially on a working tractor that spends any time out in the weather.

You are going to have to get a bigger gas tank. That 16 is going to suck that thing dry the first time you open the throttle. Might even pull a vacuum on the tank and suck the gas cap inside.

Eric,

you and trina did a good job.

 

I like the Color incl. The differently colored Kohler sign., it gives the Engine a bit more personality.

It looks like fresh out from Factory, awesome job.

I did a bit more wiring Sunday morning.

Installed the voltmeter and voltage regulator.

I ran extra ground wires from the condenser, voltmeter, and voltage regulator direct to the battery.

A little extra insurance where there's so much new paint.

 

Trina put the rest of the sheet metal on.

We'll pop them back off to change the engine pulley at some point but we have all the nuts/bolts found and wire brushed now.

 

We used some wet/dry sandpaper for step gripper.
