ebinmaine 68,156 #201 Posted August 17, 2018 @Stepney Well after a month and a half we're finally going to get back to the cinnamon horse... At least a little. We got another chassis from a fellow Redsquare member. This one's waaayy less worn out. Trina let loose the garden hose at the "new" 1977 chassis we're going to use. More to come soon..... 3

Pullstart 63,060 #203 Posted August 27, 2018 Thanks for bringing this to the top Eric, I started the read over and familiarized myself again with Cinnamon. Funny the thread started with Trina letting you have your tractor time, but now she’s practically done her own! Love how things change sometimes... You two seem to be quite the pair! 1

ebinmaine 68,156 #206 Posted September 3, 2018 My honey and I spent an hour or so this morning disassembling the donor chassis that is going to become the new cinnamon horse. I'm going to vacuum it off and spray it down and degrease it a bit. 2
ebinmaine 68,156 #207 Posted September 10, 2018 (edited) Trina spent some time this afternoon more of the disassembly on the donor chassis. I'm going to end up using the frame and transmission from this. She took apart the front suspension so we could clean it up and paint it. ebinmaine 68,156 #208 Posted September 17, 2018 (edited) TRINA decided to work on Cinnamon horse for a few hours this afternoon. Final disassembly and then some degreasing and..... Painting !!!! There's more than done what's pictured. Some small stuff hanging from the clothes line. Wheelhorse mobile. She unbolted the frame from the transmission and drained the fluid. I'll bring it in the workshop and put all four new seals in it. The brake shoe looks great. This'll get a set of hubs that have 2 set screws And a new dust boot. ebinmaine 68,156 #210 Posted September 17, 2018 Trina did some more scraping and sanding and painting today. She found that one of the ends on a tie rod was quite loose so she went searching around in the auction pile and found the one that is in the picture that has the adjustable end on it. It was too long so she loosened it up and shortened it a bit. She says to me tonight.... "What do we need to do to get this thing going back together?" I'm not sure but I think that might be woman code language for... Where is the transmission and why don't you have it done yet?

Pullstart 63,060 #212 Posted September 18, 2018 Hey EB Please make sure your Honey covers up her legs when she is running the wire wheel, I had one of those wires come off, go through my jeans and embed almost an inch into my left knee working on Putt Putt before the big show, it was so fast that I never felt it go into my knee, until it started hanging up on my jeans as I was working about probably an hour after running the wire wheel. There is still a mark, since early June! I’m glad there wasn’t internal damage (I think...) but pulling that squiggly wire out wasn’t too much fun. Sorry to show so much skin in your post, but here’s the evidence still...

Worst part is, we both know we shouldn't do that. Edited September 18, 2018 by ebinmaine
ebinmaine 68,156 #214 Posted September 23, 2018 A little more work on the project the last few days. Trina did some more disassembly of the old chassis and we discovered that the tool box/ seat base was more rusty and rotted than I knew. That always sucks but I just dug into the parts pile and found what we needed. Here's some updated pics.... This is what my honey will be working on painting tomorrow. And here's what's left of the old chassis. I'll use the wiring, engine, hubs and wheels/tires from this on the new one. The 8 speed will be split and rebuilt sometime. 4
ebinmaine 68,156 #215 Posted September 24, 2018 Well folks. We're at the stage of the game where there's nothing left to do but degrease and throw a quick coat of paint on the transmission and put some seals in it. Also put some paint on the engine. Then... Reassembly begins. 3
ebinmaine 68,156 #216 Posted September 24, 2018 Trina put the final coat of paint on the front wheels. I spent a couple hours working on the transmission tonight. Pulled the second hub using the converted 3 jaw puller but without the Jaws. Put them in between two subs that are bolted altogether with 5 bolts and it comes off very nicely. Okay maybe not very nicely. It comes off. I removed the brake assembly and input pulley. Scraped down the largest parts of the grunge and dirt and pulled all four of the seals out. Ready for degreasing and soon paint.
ebinmaine 68,156 #217 Posted October 4, 2018 A few days ago I mentioned to Trina that I thought there was "a lot of cinnamon" on the C160. I was thinking of maybe doing something to the hood. Nothing more was said. I came home today to find this... The pic makes it look curved but it's very straight. I LOVE it. 4
Pullstart 63,060 #218 Posted October 4, 2018 Looks great! You should (read: you could probably ask Trina to) do up the seat pan to match! Maybe a stripe on each side of the seat, down the fenders to the footwell?

You understand my world well Kevin. 4 hours ago, pullstart said: do up the seat pan to match! Maybe a stripe on each side of the seat, down the fenders to the footwell? I was thinking the same thing. I'm not sure what ( or if ) I'll do to the back yet. The back is more contrasting because of the seat and dashboard. It's still up for discussion....
ebinmaine 68,156 #220 Posted October 6, 2018 Front tires mounted. This is a set of Carlisle ags I had picked up recently for next to nothing. They have some age to them but they are brand new and had never been mounted on anything. 16 x 4.80/8 They're quite small in comparison to the ones on the Patriot horse. Not sure if I'll leave these on or not. 2
ebinmaine 68,156 #221 Posted October 6, 2018 Trina did some assembly on the front suspension and a couple frame pieces today. Here's a few shots to show a mock-up with the hood on. 4
