WHX?? 48,072 #2 Posted January 22, 2018 Did some ice fishing this weekend and the lake we were on had a nesting pair. Caught some dink bluegills and small northerns so gave the pair a shore lunch! Don't much care for the tree they built their nest in tho. About ready to tip over into the lake.
Ed Kennell 37,492 #3 Posted January 22, 2018 Cool picture Jim. Yeah, hope that tree falls after the eaglets fledge this summer. I have one of my favorite ladder stands in a dead tree. I took 5 archery buck there in the last 7 years. Hate to leave the spot, but I plan to move it this spring. It's just too scary when the wind kicks up. 1

KC9KAS 4,741 #5 Posted January 22, 2018 (edited) http://www.decoraheaglecamalerts.com/ We have "watched" these Eagles for about 5 years now! Edited January 22, 2018 by KC9KAS
Ed Kennell 37,492 #6 Posted January 22, 2018 That is a really strong stable looking nest. I have also been watching this female eagle for about 5 years. Her mate was killed 3 years ago and she took another mate. They hatched and fledged 2 eaglets their first year, then last year both eggs failed to hatch. This year the nest has collapsed two times, but they have it rebuilt and should be laying in three weeks.

tunahead72 2,386 #9 Posted January 23, 2018 Are you kidding? I couldn't handle that mob! It was a great game though, fun to watch, unlike the last couple. My son said he was going down to Philly to catch the action after the game. I haven't heard from him since, I suppose I should call him. How about you?
Ed Kennell 37,492 #10 Posted January 23, 2018 I'm actually a Steelers fan, I have high hopes for the Eagles. If Foles stays in the zone he was in last night...we have a shot.

Ed Kennell 37,492 #20 Posted February 23, 2018 https://hdontap.com/index.php/video/stream/bald-eagle-live-cam Here Ya go Jim. I think she laid the first egg on Tue. The second should follow soon. She has been keeping this first egg cool to delay the incubation so #2 can catch up and hatch together on the same day. Some watchers were concerned when she was a week late. But I think Mother Nature knew the pair was too busy rebuilding the nest after it collapsed in Jan. and gave them more time to rebuild. And what a great job they did. The nest looks solid now.

My buddy (Mike O.) runs eagle viewing tours out of his pontoon on the James; quite an estuary you have down there! I used to opt for his other offering... Bluecat tours but you usually get the best of both worlds when you're haulin' in the big girls.
