Achto 27,920 #155 Posted April 22, 2018 (edited) Well my restoration has almost come to an end. Only thing left is to find a rear work light that I like. Kinda wanted some green grass for the pictures of the finished product but I settled for the white lawn that mother nature has left us. A thanks to @WHX17 for ideas, setting me up with some parts that helped me finish this project, & for the wet sanding help. First a peak under the hood. The Century Fox hydro pump fits very nicely, almost like it was made for the application. Thanks to @wheelhorseman for making the parts to keep these old Hein Werner pumps working as well as the tranny parts that keep our tractors rolling. Thanks also to @Shynon for hooking me up with a better engine shroud. @Vinylguy Did a fantastic job with the decals as always. The dash decal is always a bit challenging for me to lay down, but the end result looks awesome. My steering wheel turned out OK, might keep my eyes out for a different one though. I like to have an hour meter on my tractors for maintenance purposes but didn't want to cut a hole in any of the factory sheet metal. I decided to make a gauge mount for under the seat. The sides of the mount extend down so that the wires don't get damaged by loose items tossed into the tool box. Now a step back to show the whole package. Now I can start thinking about next winters project. I've done two stock...ish restos in a row. I'm thinkin' that it may be time for a custom next winter. Might scuff up the paint on those two rims, not too worried about it though. I built it to use. 1 4

You can always buy more paint. 2

I'll be sure to get a video as soon as I get a chance to drop the plow in the ground. Installed the final piece today, my rear work light. It took a little searching but I finally found a LED light that I liked the looks of. Another thing that I like about this light is that the body is all aluminum instead of plastic. It's compact & has the look of a tractor light. Then there is the important part, brightness. After shutting down the lights in the shop for a visual, I'm pretty convinced that I should have enough light to work by. Here's a link, just in case anyone is interested in these lights. https://www.amazon.com/WEISIJI-Driving-Lights-Bicycle-Motorcycle/dp/B01M0OXEND/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1524949562&sr=8-3&keywords=mini+driving+lights 4
Achto 27,920 #169 Posted May 15, 2018 (edited) What do you do after you spend a few months getting a tractor back into shape? You put it to work!! Today was the day to get it's new coveralls dirty!! @PeacemakerJack found some land that needed to be turned & I was more than willing to help. Of course it didn't happen with out pictures. I'm quite happy with the performance of this machine. The soil conditions were not terrible but the very damp clay was not the easiest to pull the plow through. It sure made the exhaust bark a little. Josh was nice enough to get some video while I settled the Raider into it's new life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPKnAJe3axo Josh took a few rounds with my Raider. He thought that it preformed very well also. Two proud 's showing off their work. Had a great time hangin' with Josh & giving my newly restored it's first work out. PeacemakerJack 10,742 #171 Posted May 15, 2018 (edited) Can I just say here once again—“I REALLY ENJOY PLOWING!”? Dan’s creation not only looks amazing—It plows really well. Soil conditions weren’t great and we were up against some rain moving in but we still had a great time. Thanks Dan for the seat time! Dan gave me an opportunity to drive it last fall at Jim’s in its original state. We were having charging issues and I made it about 10 Feet before it ran out of battery! So, I was excited when Dan handed me the reins today and said take it for a couple of laps. The video doesn’t do the exhaust justice. It really has a cool sound and the fit and finish makes it feel like a brand new machine. Dan had the plow preadjusted and I don’t think he even turned the handle after making a round. The hydraulic lift handle is in a very convenient spot and the only thing that was stretch for me was the stirrups. However, Dan has longer legs than mine and it suits him just perfect. This tractor is a 10 and once again proves that ‘s when properly setup make fine plow mules! Even though we didn’t get much time to talk, I always enjoy hanging with my local circle buddies. Great friends—and great times! Edited May 15, 2018 by PeacemakerJack 4 3
