It’s a bit of a pain in the neck to get the cotter pin in the hole in the rod once it’s in the proper place.

Ain’t that the truth!  I hung the plow on the B-80, mounted the chains and topped off the fluids.  She’s ready for snow!  I hope.

@WHX??

You seem to have a small amount of engine taking up space around your mouse nest.

Turned my horse around in the garage, so it's pointing out! Might actually get to play with my plow!

I suspect you will find some heavy pitting in the bead area and around the valve stem hole. I’ve used JB Weld and Bondo with equally good results. Sand it down with #80 grit paper, just leaving enough material to fill the pits.
I just sand blasted some 1977 rims and filled the pitting on them.
But didn’t take any pictures.
Ps On the rear rims it’s cool to find the date stamp telling the month and year the rim was made.

I was just thinking about this at 3:00am this morning lol .

I’ll do the JB to fill the holes and pitting.

When the time comes I’ll look for the date on the rears,I’ve done them on different machines but never noticed a born on date on them ,pretty neat.

I did find a stamped date on the forward axle on this machine a1979” C series ,never seen that before.

Ill post a before and after pic later .

thx

 She’s a 657 with a Kohler Magnum 8HP pull-start.

You ever wanna rehome that lemme know.

I'd bet the BBT would give that a good working position in her fleet.

Pushed bout 10" snow this evening with the 654. Said it before but again I'm surprised at how well it pushes for only being 6hp Tecumseh. Although I like my Kohlers I'm not  a Tecumseh hater......

I may come up with a winch setup to raise/lower plow to make things easier on my back.

Harbor Freight leds. Big improvement over the old lights. They are great & inexpensive. I just cut connector off lamps & used heat shrink crimp connectors to existing headlamp wiring. Rear lamp is just a trailer marker light. I ran an aux 4 circuit fuse box to power lights, 12v power outlet, & anything else if needed.

Same here with a 502 ... no chains and the weights don't count for much.

Leds are the ticket for the techys of that year. They go easy on that marginal charging system techys have. If my stay orginal analness wasn't in the way i'd put them in the bug eyes.

I don't run chains as I have a new cement driveway. Have bout 100lbs of old barbells stacked on hitch. Then 200lbs of me sitting on the seat. My rear tire type seems to work better than the bar type tires in the snow.

Man you'd get a kick outta the rig I run.

My '75 C160 Automatic is around 1400 lbs or so at snow prep!

That makes sense. Those zig zags would offer a lot more biting area than a standard AG tread.

AGs are great for doing exactly what they're designed for,  loose surfaces. They're self cleaning. Designed to work in loose sand, dirt, mud and only one direction.

Here we have a gravel/aggregate driveway surface.

We run turf tires with chains ⛓️

Absolute best grip but too aggressive for good asphalt or concrete.
