Maz91 202 #21901 Posted August 15 Got my raider almost completely torn down today. Not likely to have it back together for the meet and greet in Maine but hopefully ready to go by the time snow falls. Got to thank @ebinmaine for a bunch of guidance along the way. I know you guys think he’s pretty lousy but he’s actually a great guy! He and Trina are constantly driving by my house honking the horn. 3 1
8ntruck 6,998 #21902 Posted August 15 Mowed the lawn with Morgan, the 14-8 this afternoon. I think the last time I mowed was around the 4th of July. Still dusty today, though.

Ed Kennell 38,112 #21904 Posted August 15 I added a front hitch to the 310-8. I have one on the 312 that is centered on the mule drive, but it is not visible from the seat. I wanted one that was visible from the drivers seat for exact positioning when hooking up. This worked out really well and doesn't interfere with the deck, mule drive, steering, or hood opening. 4

Dosen't interfere - except with shins when walking by the front of the tractor 3

Ed Kennell 38,112 #21907 Posted August 15 (edited) 59 minutes ago, cleat said: Can you give more details on this hitch please. I used a short piece of 2X2 box beam as a spacer. Drilled two holes to match the existing two holes in the frame, then welded it to the 2" receiver tube. Bolted the assembly to the frame with the two grade 8 3/8" bolts. (90K psi . shear) It was a challenge to install the bolts inside the frame. A 3/8" rachet with a 9" extension, universal joint and 9/16" socket worked. 1 hour ago, 8ntruck said: Dosn't interfere - except with shins when walking by the front of the tractor I kept the front end of the receiver tube flush with the front of the mule drive so it would not be a shin buster. The ball and slug is only there when moving a trailer. I really use the front hitch a lot to position the splitter when splitting firewood. Makes it easy to position the splitter close to the large rounds that are difficult to move. Edited August 15 by Ed Kennell 1 7

Hi @Ed Kennell I really like your thinking here about being able to see where the hitch is aligning. Question, could you have used a piece of flat stock and drilled a hole for the ball? Do you think that would work as well? Seems like it might be easier (no welding) and cheaper…just a thought…
Lane Ranger 10,968 #21909 Posted August 15 This is another front hitch option. I bought two of these a couple years ago but I believe the maker is still selling on eBay. the beauty of this design is that you can place in your tractor in front by removing the top attach a matic bolt on the frame and installing a longer bolt to secure. The hitch rides on tight but you can also place your front mile drive with the hitch - so you can mow and tow! Towing from the front is like having power steering! 2

It would still need to be spaced out so the hood would open W/O hitting the ball. It would also be a shin buster. Cheaper....this was all from my junk pile so my only cost was about $0.50 worth of mig wire. 1

So much easier to push trailers around for us old guys with necks that don't turn. pfrederi 17,697 #21914 Posted August 17 Just wasted a bit over 90 minutes looking for the clutch pedal for my C-160-8 renovation project. The latest in a series of searches for parts that went missing since I took her apart last fall. That's what happens when projects get drawn out. Finally found it ...it was in the oven and must have been there for a couple months. Had been in the electrolysis bath and then after rinsing got put in the oven to dry off. 2

Sparky-(Admin) 21,314 #21918 Posted August 17 Worked my 414-8 with a 42” RD hard today. Mowed the in-laws place in preparation of an upcoming house sale. Had to mow the back twice to get it knocked down and looking good. If ya blow up the pic you can just see my WH waaay out back. She got a well deserved Rotella oil change when we got home. 7
ebinmaine 67,391 #21919 Posted August 17 Ours is kind of "What did you do FOR your Wheelhorses today?" We spent a few hours putting a new tarp over the 13 x 20 portable garage. The front side is tied to the original Shelter Logic front strap. The back has 4 straps crossing diagonally and several lengths of paracord. There's a row of rocks down each side at the base. Hopefully this will hold for another 2 years or so. 11

WHGuy413 2,683 #21922 Posted August 18 (edited) Had a marathon night in the garage last night working til well past midnight and then up at 5:30 to continue working on Alex’s puller project. I was out of work all week with a knee injury and went stir crazy so getting out there last night felt great. Haven’t had a stretch like that in a long time. The smiles on his face made it well worth it. I made a post in pullers if anyone wants to see it. Edited August 18 by WHGuy413 3 8
Sodaking27 777 #21923 Posted August 18 Next task on the C175 is to replace the hoses and rebuild the lift valve. Valve is leaking like a faucet. Parts from WheelHorsePartsandMore. I’m sure this is going to be a fun task. 11
Cee245 818 #21924 Posted August 18 Switched seats around from my 416 to the 314 mowing/... tractor. Seems more proportional to the higher gear reduction steering on this 314. MUCH more comfortable than an oem seat! I'll be on the look out for a 4-5 series adjustable seat soon. (Bottom pic is newer, higher seat) 9
