Depends on how much gunk the Gunk removed and is floating around. It does lose potency. The old stuff would burn the hair clean off of your carcass!

Nothing, plow works great. Swings easily to the left or the right. Looks like it hits the tire in the photo but it dosnt touch it when locked in either direction.

I built my Raider specifically for doing field work. On an average size garden tractor, I believe that it is hard to get more than 12hp to the ground. My Raider has 220lbs worth of wheel weights on the back & 50lbs hanging off from the front. Never had a power issue while pulling my set up, I did have a traction issue some times when I had to cross over what I had already tilled.

Having plowed snow and pulled some VERY heavy loads I can see the logic there.

I got some shop time today while the BBT and her Mom did more work in the new garden site. 

They got the rest of the fenceposts in and started spreading out some Promix. 

 

They were using the tent room as a mobil bug net. 

 

 

 

I spent a decent portion of the day getting the swap of front spindles and 5 lug hubs done on the Cinnamon Horse C160. 

It now has 6-12 AG tires up front. 

I ordered tubes for it. Should be in next week.  

Also worked on, and worked with, the Mackissic chipper. 

I found that with the giant BEAST of a chipper out front the drive traction is pretty much non existent. 

I'll be putting the fluid filled 23 x 10.50 x 12 AGs. Also steel weights. 

That'll add 250+ lbs to the back end.

What huds did you use for this?

Turn those AG's around Eric for better steering stability. I have or have had AG' s with the direction printed right on the sidewalls and they say to reverse them for non driving wheels.

They're just generic fleeeBay parts. 

I searched for 2000 lb trailer axle hubs and stubs and bought the least expensive ones I could find.

@Desko  , while you are in that hood area , good opportunity to  enhance / increase your hood / lights grounding set up . just try this , alligator clip wire from battery ground bolt point behind dash , to your head light ground , probably brighten things up . if it helps its easy to make it part of your set up . pete

Yep. We are all too familiar with that scenario. Luckily here it only lasts about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. Then they are gone for the most part, for the rest of the year.

Little bit of both.

What I got was a hub and stub kit off of the interwebs.

It's for a 2000 lb trailer axle so it has 1" ID bearings inside and outside.

The seal surface that you can see from the outside is 1.25" OD 

The particular setup I ordered came with round shaft type stub axles, hubs, four bearings and two seals, 10 lug nuts, castle nuts and cotter pins, outer dust cover.

 

I ordered this a while back so I don't know what current availability is. Make sure you get a complete kit with ALL above parts.

 

 

What you do to prep the stub axles is cut off most of the part that would normally be welded to the trailer and then drill a ¾ hole down through the middle of the 1-in shaft about to where the threads begin. Maybe 3-in deep. 

One of the generous Red square members did that for me. 

 

To fasten the trailer stub shaft to the tractor spindle you can either weld the end or use JB Weld.

 

Scroll back a few posts and you'll see where @Lee1977 recommends doing a reinforcement bracket.

I agree with that recommendation.
