peter lena 8,626 #14991 Posted March 18, 2022 @Fergus agree with others on your attempted save , not sure how difficult it is to remove or drop that deck , but that , would be the most important thing you could do to it regularly , dry it out in the sun if possible , clean out the bottom side , lubricate it with a soak down . scrape it down, leave it upside down when not in use , to dry out and soak in the oil to the metal. lightly sharpen blades , look for another deck . been doing this for years . this is my deck, just an idea that works , pete 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The PO let the hoop quick clip out and the hoop rubbed the bearing hub clean down to the snap ring groove. How could you not hear that? The ER was right above the shop and the ICU the floor above that. The staircases acted like chimneys. I have to rebuild my 48 inch SD deck for my 1994 520H. I have new spindles with the sleeves as shown in the pic (yellow rag). My concern is “Do you have to, or can you line up the grease holes in the sleeves with the grease holes in the spindle shafts” And since the holes with positively not be, or stay lined up, will the grease work it’s way to the bearings ?… this has been in the back of my mind since I first looked closely at the design… Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
