clutch housing got stuck to where I had to beat it off, well it came off, but not unscathed. The part of it where the belt rides half the lip broke off the cast, so idk if it's still usable or not.

          We tend to joke about using a BFH Tool but the proper way to remove an electric clutch is threading a bolt into the center. Please ask us the next time you have a problem child of a part that won't come off.

Out plowing (video on the way)... and HellHorse ran out of gas.

Went back to the shop, grabbed a can of fuel, threw it in the trailer, and went out to give my Horse a drink.

Then the 2 of them got in an argument about who was faster... deer or horse...

Sheesh... can't they just get along? :eusa-think:

Dave, your sentiment is certainly understandable. There's clearly some sort of green thing screwing up the picture here.

I think @Snoopy11 might be coming around to better logic and  reason though. His latest purchase was a Horse.

It’s that time, we got some snow here. I sure wish we’d get a blizzard like the old days.

Then I set up a speed trap…

The Marine pumps work fabulously just have a few on hand as the ethanol eats through the rubber in about a year and 1/2.... good news is that all you have to do is pop off the old one and slip the new one on......

You've got my attention...

Seats are one place where these mods could definitely improve.

There was a guy back in 07-08 at the PA show that made new black and white seats for mid 60s machines. He reused existing pans, and his work was not just beautiful, they were comfy too. I so much wish I'd bought 2 or 12 of them!

That was @BOB ELLISON,   I understand that @wheelhorseman is going to pick up the seat business that Bob started.       :woohoo:

Been a hot & Cold Minute.Since Ive been around. Finally got enough of other folks vehicles out of my shop to get started on the 522xi Rear axles.

Somebody forgot to mention this thing is heavier than my Suburban.

Got the rear end out and in process of cleaning it up.

Ive got seals etc. I got the Hobs that are of the shaft collar variety, kinda spensive but for the money I doubt I will find better. Bearings dont seam worn at all. no slop. gonna check for run out once its on the bench.

Any advice on what hidden gremlins to look for be greatly appreciated!!

Will likely do a YouTube vid once it on the bench if I live that long.

Happy 22 to all of ya, Be seeing ya soon !!

Ok this axle looks like an odd ball wheel horse axle that has a two hole spot in center that a bolt or pin would go in.  However the RJ /Suburban front axles had the go in horizontal not vertical!   What do you think might this have been for???

It is simply a vacuum gauge, as the throttle plate opens, the vacuum drops.  It could be used on any engine.

same, I cant think of any unit small enough for it to be a front axle, its just angle iron, heck it could be a piece of linkage!

I don’t know… maybe someone here can explain how to read the horsepower percentage gauge on the 520H…

I wasn't ignoring you Maxwell, I just honestly have no idea. That 520 is a couple years newer than mine, and mine has a vaccum guage in that spot. I assume it works off the same source input, but really don't know.

My question would be does it ever register the load at 100%?

So would a wide open throttle plate cause the percentage to go towards 100% , or towards 0% ?

I know y’all have said they are notoriously inaccurate, and about useless…

but for the sake of maybe understanding what it is “supposed “ to do-say I had the throttle set and the gauge was holding steady at say 60%, then I engaged an attachment or tried to pull something heavy, putting a load on it, and making the governor kick in… would the gauge go towards 100% or 0% ?

The governor opens the throttle more to maintain the set RPM, so the vacuum drops with that big hole open (throttle plate).  The lower the vacuum, the more the engine is being worked, when it is doing all it can the vacuum will be at its lowest and the gauge reads 100%.  Some think that the gauge is inaccurate because it will read 100% at low throttle settings, but that is wrong thinking, it can be reading 100% because the throttle is wide open and the engine speed is low but the engine is doing all it can at that speed.  Note that the gauge reads 100% with the engine off, here again it is doing all it can which is nothing.

If you're running ethanol fuel, you're gonna want to have a few carburetors on hand as well.
