WHs are tough but they are Garden Tractors.. Start using them like bulldozers or skid steer and guess what... 3

I made some reinforcement for the Bronco because I have a disc set that weighs about 250 lbs. Extending it out almost two feet behind the tractor adds quite a bit of leveraged force on that plate. ...but that tractor was not designed for those forces to be applied. 4

Oldskool 6,660 #14454 Posted January 29, 2022 Snow has started to fall. I'm getting closer to having a new plow tractor. Front weights and chains are on so far. 3 2

Be careful with he overrun on the winch. When I had that setup I had to install a big spring in line after breaking some parts. 2

Looks like the winch will be pulling back on the plow frame rather than up. May want to run the cable through a pulley block near the top of your brush bar.
Lee1977 6,917 #14457 Posted January 29, 2022 If your using the remote, you need to disconnect the power when not using it as it will pull the battery down. I just disconnect the ground wire from the battery when it's not needed. Was going to put a 30 amp big truck light switch on it never got around to order one.
Oldskool 6,660 #14458 Posted January 29, 2022 All good info guys. Thanks. I definitely will be changing a few things after this big snow. I'm running out of time at the moment. It's already snowing like heck

That would also allow more room to install a safety spring. The anchor point on the plow frame could also be moved back so the lift cable is vertical.

Connected with a shackle which is where the hook is snapped in.
Ifixoldjunk 778 #14461 Posted January 29, 2022 @johnnymag3 Hudson valley too. My job involves a lot of snow removal this time of year and that’s what we’re all being told. So far we’ve had around 3in and it just keeps coming.

It's a fair bet that if you get one that is broken, that or something similar caused it. There are several folks on here however, who have made nice braces under there for just such a concern. The pic below is not mine, but a good example. How well do those reinforcements clear the decks? I’ve been thinking about building some for the my 310 because it’s my primary wood hauler.
Oldskool 6,660 #14463 Posted January 29, 2022 Rear ice chains are on along with the wheel weights and another 50lbs of weight. I think Hiram is as ready as he is going to be for this storm. If he does well maybe a cab will be something to think about. Time for a hot beverage and watch this white stuff pile up. 2

Ifixoldjunk 778 #14467 Posted January 29, 2022 @johnnymag3looks like you’ve taken care of that truck to get those years out of it. I’m hopefully replacing my 98 ram 1500 this weekend. NY salt finally got to her. 1
Ifixoldjunk 778 #14468 Posted January 29, 2022 the single stage cut through this light fluffy 4-6in of snow like it was butter. That was the kind of snow I wanted to see all season. Did most of the driveway with my snowplow, but had to make a nice bathroom area for the dog with the blower.😅 6

D_Mac 8,942 #14472 Posted January 30, 2022 Well living in western NY you better have something to move a lot of snow around. I normally use my snowblower, but so far this year I have only used this 875 to plow my driveway. I have high curbing on both sides of my driveway, making plowing it a little difficult. Way more fun sitting on the tractor plowing then walking behind a snowblower. Might have to just sell that blower!! 3
