Figure about 12ft wide (to allow for room for next snow fall) and a section in front of the shop about 100 feet that I have to clear about 35 ft wide (to turn truck into shop). That part is a lot of back and forth. So it has been all hydro for me for several years now . No way i am going back. A bit faster forward and much faster reverse. The good thing is, I didn't have a lot of fuel in it at the time... and it died before I had to chase it... too far... Also does other plowing on gravel stuff if i don't feel likes swapping tractors... Hardly any wear. Then took the tiller off and installed the 48" blade. The 312H will be used for warm weather snow removal. The 520H with heated cab and 54" blade is ready full time for the cold weather duty. We both have gravel drives. He slit a piece of 3" PVC length wise. Took out about an inch wide. It snaps right onto the wear bar.
