WheelHorse520H 708 #12378 Posted July 29, 2021 (edited) I did some painting this morning. Had an issue with the paint previously so had to sandblast everything again and repaint. The first time I painted all of the paint flakes off during the curing process. Then yesterday I used some glass beads and brought it back down to metal and a small layer of primer. I then put more primer on as well yesterday and let it sit over night. And then this morning I put on the top coat and plan to cure the paint this afternoon. Hopefully ending with a better result. johnnymag3 2,520 #12380 Posted July 29, 2021 I found putting it in the grill is a no-no...…. Also sometimes there is a reaction with primer type, paint type......sort of like painting latex over oil....GM can tell you all about this issue , as can other manufacturers...Remember the 80's ? Hope this time it all works out for you !!!

I don’t even know where the nearest one is.

cleat 6,007 #12386 Posted July 29, 2021 All of my mufflers get painted then the heat treatment is simply to start the engine. No issues on any of my machines so far.

He said they will typically only charge a nominal fee to bake them. 42 minutes ago, cleat said: All of my mufflers get painted then the heat treatment is simply to start the engine. This paint scratches and smudges easily so I wanted to prevent damage, now that I think about it, I could do the clear coat and install it and let it get treated by the engine right?

If you decide to get them repaired and could deliver to Dover, I could transport from there to the repair shop in Springvale.

c-series don 8,710 #12397 Posted July 31, 2021 (edited) @squonkWhenever I go on a road trip I’m always looking/hoping to see a sign like that. I wonder how many Wheel Horses I pass that are in a garage or shed that the owner would love to talk about?! I have a Wheel Horse sign on my fence at the beginning of my driveway, but I live on a dirt road that nobody really comes down except my neighbors or someone that’s lost!!
