SylvanLakeWH 25,552 #10801 Posted April 26, 2021 Oil changed in transmission and engine on the new 1982 C-85. Trans “oil” was 2 pure quarts water and about 1/2 quart of mocha sludge…see pics Engine oil actually wasn’t that bad… No spark but cranks over nice and getting gas… hhhmmm… will be assessing. 4 2

Replaced the oil. ran for a couple of weeks, and replaced again. Now, thanks to stupidity, I will be replacing it again. 2

I’ll send the recipe… No flush… yet… I put oil in there to soak and gonna run it / pull it around for awhile that way then another change to assess what comes out… Also - Not sure of seals etc. Can you change the pulley drive shaft seal from the outside? Cleaned off more rust on the edges of the knife bar and oiled it down. Next step will be installing new blades and rivets! The Johnson Sickle Servicer tool should make installing new blades and rivets much easier than ever before! Have looked at nuts and bolts?? Lots using them now if you stone guard has enough clearance...

8ntruck 6,999 #10812 Posted April 27, 2021 @WheelhorseBob that is a nice MGA. Much nicer than mine, which is still an unassembled kit. You only got four cylinders, though. Mine has 8 in the form of an aluminum Olds 215. Still has the stock rear axle with the 4:33 gears. That is going to change when I put it back together. Got a posi 3:55 axle out of a Monza Spider. Ought to be easier to live with. Stronger, too.

I never had both together in one car though. I know it would be off topic but if you wanna make an old dude droolin' happy and reminiscent, I'd love to see some pics of that! I did a frame off on my 58 Coupe MGA back in the late 70's, sold around '85 or so. I gaze longingly at the carb synching tools that still reside in my tool box from time to time. And I have one of the oval cowl vents hanging on my garage wall, next to the timing chain and gears from the engine. Just to stay SLIGHTLY on topic, I did not own a Horse at the time!

ebinmaine 67,462 #10820 Posted April 27, 2021 (edited) Took a couple minutes and cleaned up the hoop for the PTO going on Cinnamon Horse. My lovely Paint Department put some gloss black on it. Also set the other parts in the utility sink to soak overnight. Hopefully have all the parts lined up Wednesday afternoon... This one was already painted black. It already had a fair amount of rust under the crust/paint so I sanded it down She washed and painted it.
