I'm not very familiar with the C-160, but I really don't think there is suppose to be a spring there at all. Someone more familiar with it is going to have to chime in.

I'm having a hard time seeing the area in the manual, but I don't see a spring. I'll have to see if there is spring missing in the back

The brake pedal return spring should be in the back and connects the brake lever to a hole in the left axle housing gusset.

Front receiver mount is complete. It came together real nice and now my vision for carrying all the yard tools for trail clearing is complete.

Scope of work. All that overgrowth needs to be cut out, and this is just one of many projects. Gonna be busy this summer.

Got my new to me original 401 out for a spin and a few pictures. Put a new fuel bowl on,diamond treads and fairbanks recoil. Runs like a top no smoke or unusual noise.

LOL. To be honest it was semi-inspired by "The Big Tool Rack" which is made for a 3 point hitch. If money was no object I'd have a 25hp diesel subcompact and one of those racks, but the tractor is $18k and the rack is $1800. I get along pretty well with my pair of 312-8's 😁

 The pedal on the left of Auto tractors is pulled back by the little spring 6-14. It is a BIT***ch to install.  Daveoman has posted an external spring hook up to replace it.

I assume that's that little spring that's not hooked to anything?

The spring on my 876 connects to a bolt on one end, and the triangle shaped piece on the other end. If someone removed the bolt, there is nothing to connect it to.I added the locknut BTW.

I cleaned up the wheels that @pullstart sent.  Boy, are they pretty!  Just waiting for the new rear tires to come in so I can take the bundle to the tire shop to be mounted.  Rosie's gonna have new kicks!

 

Assessed the plow and ordered some parts to get the pivot handle working properly.

 

Took another look at that tiny stack, and it is round at the base.  Need to locate some exhaust pipe and extend that baby, so I can breathe the fresh country air while I drive my tractor in the sunshine.

I said it.  You will note that Gregors 876 has a different motion control no big tension spring on the cross shaft.  You have less room to work.  It is doable with some very long needle nose pliers plenty of cursing and swearing..good luck
