Achto 27,570 #79 Posted January 26, 2018 @WV Hillbilly, That sure is a cool tractor. Looks like a good way to spend A LOT of money, I count about $4800 in IH suitcase weights alone. The best way to become a millionaire pulling tractors is to start with 3 million. 4 1

Oh I know, I have buddies my age playing in the truck pulling game spending way too much $ to earn a $20 plastic trophy, I drove one time in my buddies $5k "street legal" 400 Pontiac powered GMC and got the truck a best distance ever of 262' for 2cd place, the other buddy has $50k in a short bed Chevy with about 10 trophies on the bookcase that was 7 years ago...I'll stick with my "street legal" car playing on the streets scaring old women and young children ... 3

Two other reasons..1) Annual percipitation is ~ 12 inches so very little snow and grass is not quick to grow even if you can keep it alive enough to do so and 2) homes with land and outbuildings are beyond what I want to pay as I am gearing down for retirement in 10 years or so. So little need or room for the larger toys and implements. 1

I’m guessing by looking at it that it is more than 30 years old. Not pictured is long pieces of angle iron that bolt to the frame to hold it on. I would like to fabricate a hitch though that works with the front attach-a-matic with a support strut like the factory setup. It has a residential exterior Square D box. I want to reorganize all the exterior wiring and make it durable and streamlined... I’m open to thoughts and ideas from the electrician’s here to make it the best, convenient setup possible since I’m not bound to keep it original... Yes that looks heavy! I think you might need to borrow @elcamino/wheelhorse's suspenders to help support that!

Got to watch him make his last pull I believe he was 78 before he sold it . I also got to see the mad scientist behind these two machines Max Simpson make his final pass with his D21 Double Trouble . The engine split into with all that boost from four turbochargers . I guess I was a lucky kid growing up in 80’s in a AC Ag dealership. Keith Haynes part owner of Mean Olé Allis came around quite often . It was exciting for a young man like me to get to talk with and interact with legends of the pulling world. and you think you had a bad day ! http://www.ntpapull.com/about/ntpa-hall-of-fame-inductees/item/max-simpson 4

Every time I find out something else about you Jeff, the more amazed I am at the similarities in our lives. My grandfather owned a Ford tractor dealership when I was a kid. I loved to hang around there, check out the new tractors, see what work was going on, ride around on the old Poppin' Johns and Farmalls that were taken in on trade, and best of all riding around in the shop rollback with my dad delivering and picking up equipment, Got a birthday coming up? When? Mine is on Feb. 6th.
