balconio 606 #9928 Posted March 24, 2021 I gave my 312-8 a backpack and a tool pouch. Unless I have a trailer hitched up it always seems like I'm lacking storage on the tractor. Heavy duty and made of composite decking so it wont rot. Having an issue with a hitch on the 857. It has a slot hitch on it. I do not plan on removing the plow so with the plow lifted the hitch points up. I have the trailer hooked on with a chain until I can figure something else out....... Maybe a double mount... Find the longer bolt in an Agri Store with 2 Splints and mount the Hitch and the rear attachement hitch together. works for me and even if you lift the Attachement hitch, the Trailerhitch is untouched about. a Zerk fitting drilled into the hole and a rusted bolt is forgotten for eternity if regulary greased. Tractorhead 9,064 #9945 Posted March 25, 2021 I just be on a Voltmeter for diagnostics. A Standart battery ( VRLA or AGM Type ) have something about 12,2-12,8V in idle depending on it’s charge. A VRLA a battery with 12,8 is fully charged, 12,2 is empty. Between is idle (12,5V is about half) While charge it raises up to 13,8 or up to 14,4V The logic is that simple as it sounds. if voltage raises, there is a charging, if voltage drops, there is a consumption that simple. if voltage raises on running Engine and drops after i.eg. Switch on the lights, than the lights drops more power than the charging system can deliver. a simple but usable estimation. Voltage should be normally allway‘s over 12,2V to check it exactly i use an clamp ammeter for Service purposes but in daily use i see no sense for an Ammeter except on electric Attachements with high Current consumption. Gregor 4,846 #9947 Posted March 25, 2021 As far as batteries go, it seems they are not all created equal. Several weeks ago, I bought a Continental brand 12V, 230CCR, garden tractor battery. I just wanted a small battery on my work bench for testing purposes. I rebuilt a Lawn Boy electric starter, and wanted to test it. Hooked up the battery. It would spin, but it was never going to start a motor. I think the battery was at 12.8V at the time. I also have a battery for a little ride on toy the grand kids use when they are here. I tried that battery. It's much smaller than the Continental battery, and I don't remember the voltage, but it spun that little starter right over.
