OldWorkHorse 3,045 #9676 Posted March 11, 2021 Made use of this nice warm Maine day to do some metal work on the 1257Heavy project. Some cracks and welds from the PO needed to be fixed or re done and filled some holes where lights were mounted and filled in the lift handle slot since won't be using that. Not bad better if my gas welder wasn't down but not bad for gasless 🤷♂️ 7
ebinmaine 67,592 #9677 Posted March 11, 2021 @OldWorkHorse Looks good Steve. Grind and reweld as needed. That'll certainly get the structure back for you.

Tractorhead 9,064 #9680 Posted March 11, 2021 Did a try today. because i must Wait that long last time for my Rear Rim‘s i decide to make me 2 4-Bolt Wheelhubs. Simply bought 2 VW Golf III front Wheelhubs for 15$ both and rework them today on the Mini Lathe. found a fitting Bolt what i can use as testobject to verify if it fits. Tadaa - two new 4Bolt Wheelhubs. they just need 2 threads for Setscrews to be ready to use. 801613DE-BC90-40E9-94FD-0A82EB751007.MOV 2 8

D_Mac 8,620 #9692 Posted March 12, 2021 What are you looking for ? Just the air filter cover? On my C-161, because of the bad engine mounts, the plate that holds the cover and filter to the carb cracked. I got the smaller cover from k&b horse parts. I might still have other cover, but not the plate.
krystolo 504 #9693 Posted March 12, 2021 @D_Mac I need the base plate and the cover. Thanks, though!

Tuneup 1,433 #9696 Posted March 13, 2021 A lathe is the biggest and best toy of all the big boy toys - full stop as the Brits say. Welder second IMO. There's a welder in my immediate future... I got the 48SD on the saw horses and, after pulling 2 of 3 arbors and finding the center pulley jammed and slightly damaged, decided that the 42SD that is perfectly fine will be my go-to mower on the 516 this year. The 48 is going to be fully restored. The pullies and bearings I have sitting ready will have to wait for grinding, welding, painting and labeling. Now, shall I not cut the center pulley off and just support the center of the deck and hit that blasted arbor with a 10lb sledge? I am tempted...how do we get these jammos off?! The center did not come with the wheel puller - the threads pulled right out. Little bugger.
