What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

Added this cordless, rechargeable flashing light that I got off Amazon to my plow WH this morning. Very nice magnetic base so I can move it to my snowblower WH.

I was sure hoping you didn't drill holes for that.

Do you make house calls? Western IL. Only 185 miles.

My 656 was a bit too light for todays snow. Just pushed the front end around.

You need front roller chains and lots o' weight.

I have two, 950# brand-x tractors, both with blades, one with chains. They are in storage. No room up here with the vehicles in the garage.

How much snow you get over that way? Only about an inch here a little east of you.

It blew a lot, so hard to say. 4 - 6 inches. Semi wet.

Drilling extra holes that aren't factory in the tins is one of my pet peeves.

That's bad enough. And I'm not disagreeing. But what drives me about 11% more crazy than that is when they don't even line up side to side...

Who DOES that??!!??

It's on straight I can live with it....

Why do I need to have a tachometer in that hole?

Supposed to get 6-8". We got maybe 3. Went out and plowed anyway. Neighbors had their snow blowers out burning last years gas and there was no way I was staying inside drinking hot chocolate watching them! :naughty:

@rjg854 were you able to make it down your driveway? :)

I may have won one of the battles, but the new tires won the war.

Good luck on round 2!

Those tire changing machines are pretty darned handy. I so seldom change tires I just accept that I'll be paying to have it done rather than get equipped to do it myself.

I've been lucky - changed set of rear tires and two sets of front tires with just tire irons, long screwdriver / pry bar - and a C clamp ...

fairly quickly - with little issue

and did not have the wheel secured to the floor or bench

however - was a challenge to get the beads to seat on wheels for one set of 4-ply front tires installed without tubes - especially because I was using a hand tire pump (no compressed air) ... wrapped a pair of tie-down straps around the tires  and then 'compressed' the outside portion to seat the beads to the wheel  - but the beads did not seat as well as I hoped

Changed tires for 25 years. I take tires down the street now. I have more enjoyable things to than battle tires. Machine or no machine. I have the small HF changer but it's only used to take crappy tires off good rims

On my right forearm is a multicolor tattoo of the original patent copy from the early 1930s when they applied for a three-dimensional hood ornament patent.

No problem getting down the driveway :laughing-rolling:

A truly no problem getting up the driveway either, filled tires with :wh: weights all 4 corners and roller chains. Even the little lady and her Honda Fit made it. It looks worse than it is as long as you have a good head of steam nothing to worry about.  Thanks for thinking of me :ychain:

Got the wheels finished up and tires re-installed for my 854 ; this is much more in line with what this tractor deserves. Original tires in near perfect condition, beautiful original lug nuts that were hiding under a horrible paint job. More to follow .......

Wheels look great, if you don't mind me asking for comparison, What did it cost to have them powder coated? I was quoted $150 for all 4 to sand blast and powder coat. And what color was used?

I really can't say what it cost to have these 4 done because I had alot more stuff done at this time. $150.00 does sound like a fair price especially if they are doing the blasting also. I also don't know what the color code/name of the powder is but I will check when I pick up my other parts . I have color sprayout cards that I take with me to the powder coater and he has me  pick from his color samples. I have a custom mixed spray-out deck (paint samples)  that I have compiled using NOS parts and tractors, and also from tractors and parts that we have torn down.
